The MRP Instant Match team is focused on making this a reality. We are looking for a Software Engineer to build a machine learning system to transform the way that employers and job seekers connect. As a Software Engineer II, you Lead the development from translating business requirements into well thought out workable solutions to implementing and deploying them in production Lead the product strategy discussions with other software engineers, data scientists, and product leadership Mentor and grow other software engineers and data scientists across teams in coding, testing, design, and documentation Solve highly complex engineering problems in the field of machine learning systems (but not limited to) Interface with people outside the team and people in other functions like data science, product, and design. Who You Are Reruirements: 5+ years of "hands-on" industry experience as a Software Engineer using at least one of the popular programming languages: Java, C, C++, C#, Go, Kotlin, etc Experience with large scale distributed systems and / or data-intensive systems using some of the following technologies: Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Spring, SQL, Microservices, etc Ability to drive multiple projects with people in different functional areas Experience in working in an agile, face-paced environment (eg, ship early, ship often, and iterate) Ability to take product ownership and commit to delivery Experience with data-driven decision making which entails online A/B testing Experience with modern software development best practices: CI/CD, Containerization, etc Experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred) We get excited about candidates who have: Prior success on delivering large scale recommendation / feed / search products using some of the technologies like Elasticsearch, Lucene, Deep learning, Embedding-based retrieval, Learning-to-rank, Event-driven streaming architectures, etc Extensive skills and the desire to solve difficult problems at the intersection of machine learning and engineering using MLOps best practices Prior experience in working in cross-functional teams with a mix of software engineers, data scientists, business analysts, etc Who we are The Small to Medium Businesses (SMB) organization at Indeed develops products centered around the hiring needs of SMB businesses, making the hiring process simpler, faster and more effective so they always find the talent that is right for their business, when they need it. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
