Job Description
The Washington Post is looking for an Executive Assistant to be a virtual extension of high-profile, senior leaders in our Technology organization. This is a highly responsible-and highly rewarding-support role; one that demands grace under pressure, the ability to thrive in a team environment, be resourceful, and possess the ability to complete complex tasks and projects quickly. You will react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround. You must be able to build and maintain collaborative relationships across many organizations. You'll be required to tap into office administration and problem-solving savvy to stay sharp while maintaining the daily schedule of the Chief Product Officer and Managing Editor of The Washington Post. This will include identifying and prioritizing critical activities, organizing meetings and special events across several calendars, and helping to manage the public-facing and social media profiles of highly visible executives.
This role will be ever-evolving to continually meet the demands of C-level executives and requires someone with an eye for developing recommendations that contribute to a dynamic, well-run work environment. A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and professionalism in dealing with senior leaders inside and outside the company are critical. Organizational awareness, accurate prioritization skills, and superior attention to detail are indispensable.

Responsibilities
- Organize and handle daily operations including scheduling and meetings, drafting and typing correspondence, maintaining files and reports, and providing backup administrative support as needed
- Handle a heavy volume of incoming requests from internal/external clients (involves answering inquiries, resolving problems where possible and making appropriate referrals)
- Assist in meeting and event management from end to end.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as ordering supplies and working with other departments as needed to keep the team operations smoothly
- Contribute to the success of Product + Newsroom projects and events whenever possible
- Developing presentation materials for public appearances
- Drafting and creating content for executives' social media accounts
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational, time management and planning skills Ability to anticipate needs, multitask and prioritize workload without supervision Expertise with Microsoft Office and Google Drive, as well as Keynote and other presentation applications
- Detail-oriented with an eye for details, catching potential spelling and proofreading skills
- Ability to interact in a friendly and positive attitude with customers, guests, and other employees
- Ability to be trusted to be the face and voice of the Executives and even the company
- Ability to interact professionally at all internal/external levels
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive business and personnel matters
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong service orientation and good judgment
