Scientist for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP / Gaithersburg, MD (FT M-F). Work w/in Early-Stage Formulation Sciences team. Independently dsgn & dvlp formulation & drug product presentation for Phase 1 thru pivotal clinical trials of novel biotherapeutic molecules & monoclonal antibodies. Must have BA or for equiv in Chem, Biochem, Pharmaceutics, Chem or Biochem Eng, or a rel scientific field +5 yrs of prog resp exp in the job off'd or rel in the pharm industry. Must have 5 yrs of prog resp exp w/: High-throughput screening methods for proteins & dsgn of studies supporting formulation selection for intro into clinical trials; Protein biophysical characterization techniques incl Differential Scanning Calorimetry & Isothermal Titration Calorimetry, Dynamic Light Scattering, High Pressure Liquid Chromatography, Capillary Gel Electrophoresis, UV/Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, & particle characterization using MicroFlow Imaging & HIAC; Drug Substance & Drug Product processes incl ultrafiltration/diafiltration, lyophilization, Karl Fisher, & fill/finish operations; Dsgn & execution of clinical compatibility studies & in-use support for clinical administration of biotherapeutic products; Analytical assay dvlpmt for novel therapeutic modalities such as antibody drug conjugates, RNA, & DNA; Handling of high-potency molecules & working in isolator envrmts; Authoring techn'l reports &/or manuscripts for publication & in presenting work to both internal & audiences; & Maintenance of general lab instrumentation & organizational systems & interfacing w/ relevant external parties.
