Learning Strategy Manager

This Manager-level role will be a part of Capital One's Talent & Performance Management team, and will be responsible for crafting the learning strategy and agenda to support the Talent & Performance Management experience for all associates across Capital One. This includes leveraging learning strategies to drive change management and cultural transformations. This individual will help to architect, build, and deliver a world-class learning experience that speaks to the unique needs across our 50K+ associates, including people leaders, individual contributors and executives.

This individual will partner closely with key business leaders and HR Business Partners to understand the biggest learning needs in building a deep understanding amongst associates in their role in the Talent & Performance Management Experience in Capital One. They will also partner with groups such as Learning & Development, Learning Designers and DIB to build integrated learning plans and identify the highest points of leverage in learning topics. This individual will be the key advisor and consultant for developing the learning agenda across all Talent & Performance Management imperatives, inclusive of change management needs.

This individual will also be responsible for partnering directly with senior business leaders and analytics teams to measure the current and future learning strategy effectiveness and impact to inform long-term intent for learning experiences. They will work closely with communications and learning design associates on the team to craft, design and deliver best-in-class learning plans to support our long-term Talent & Performance Management vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build close partnerships with Business Executives and HR Leadership to understand key learning needs for Talent & Performance Management topics and consult on the appropriate talent development agenda
  • Accountable for business-critical learning priorities focused on upskilling people leader capabilities in Performance Management
  • Focus on learning strategies to empower associates to be active agents in their career and in associate development as people leaders
  • Partner with analytics and communications teams to understand access, usage and impact of learning resources; and evolve the learning agenda to maximize overall effectiveness
  • Partner with other Learning & Development professionals across the Enterprise to gain efficiencies, share best practices, and optimize how we interact
  • Create and adopt innovative digital learning solutions, created in-house and through vendor partnerships
  • Identify the biggest gaps and challenges in understanding of Talent & Performance Management activities for people leaders and individual contributors and devise learning solutions to best address those
  • Recommend appropriate change management solutions to drive adoption and that reflect and influence the learning culture
  • On occasion, may facilitate live training sessions for people leader and other high-impact audiences audiences on critical talent topics and activities
  • Represent learning in broader project efforts, ensuring an early focus on the implementation needs to ensure effective delivery in alignment with project timeline goals
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant learning trends, industry benchmarks, and leading edge technology advancements with recommendations on how they could positively impact Capital One and learning culture

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in learning and development
  • At least 1 year of experience in learning strategy creation and delivery
  • At least 1 years of experience in client-facing consulting

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree or Certification, Instructional Design, Organizational Learning, or Human Resource Development
  • At least 3 years of experience using multiple rapid development content tools such as Captivate, Articulate Storyline, or Camtasia to create online courseware
  • At least 3 years of experience in learning strategy creation, project management and/or client-facing consulting
