Department: CommunicationsPosition: Communications & Content Writer InternReporting to: Senior Content Writer and StrategistThe Communications & Content Writer Intern will work with the RAINN Communications team under the Sr. Content Writer and Strategist. College students with a communications, public relations, media and journalism, English in creative writing, professional and technical writing, marketing, liberal arts or related major background, and an interest in the issue of sexual violence are encouraged to apply.As the Content Writing Intern, you will work with the Sr. Content Writer and Strategist to: Research, draft and edit content for the newsletter, website, and development and public awareness campaigns.Ensure all content is clear, compelling, and properly distributed across web, mobile and social platforms.Learn how to maintain the RAINN style and branding guides.Review and update published content, including SEO needs.Conduct interviews with survivors from the Speakers Bureau. Track analytics of the monthly newsletter and suggest how we can better target our audience.Other projects with the communications team.Qualifications:Excellent writing and editing skills.Cares about RAINN's mission and survivors of sexual violence.Self-starter, independent worker.Creative, thoughtful approach to writing and content development.Detail-oriented. Excited to learn about communications strategies for national nonprofits. This is an unpaid, part-time position and requires a minimum of 12 hours per week. We will work with the student and university to ensure college credit is given for the internship, if applicable.Requirements:Resume and a writing sample. Writing sample can be a research paper or a creative writing piece.
