The program has an immediate need for an experienced Database Engineer/Developer to be a member of an application development and support program. The DBE will support the full lifecycle of software development on a program utilizing the agile software methodology. The DBE will support Operations and Maintenance of existing applications as well as support the migration of these applications to the cloud. Experience developing using Java or another coding language is a plus. The DBE will design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate and install database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management. Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases. Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements. Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation. Basic Qualifications: * TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required * Minimum Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline. Seven years of relevant work experience may substitute for a degree * Experience related to Oracle 19 or higher * Experience in Database schema creation, standardization, and management * Ability to translate a data model or logical database design into an actual physical database. * Experience in database performance management and tuning and proactively monitoring the database * Experience overseeing daily performance of database and identifying sources of performance problems in coordination with software architect and enterprise DBA. * Experience baselining and forecasting database performance data and tuning database hardware/software configurations * Experience providing technical support in the evaluation of database object names, data elements, and other objects * Experience in writing SQL and PL/SQL procedures, packages and scripts * Have good communication skills * Ability to formulate and articulate an approach to solve problems * Ability to work independently; is a self-starter Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with Postgres * Experience with Cloud * Certification in Oracle Database Administration * Prior development experience using Java or another coding language * Experience with Oracle 19 Container and Pluggable databases * Experience in developing automated tasks to collect database metrics, assess data quality, and to perform database utility operations * Experience in using Oracle data pump import and export to populate development, test, training and V&V environments * Experience in management of user and application accounts and privileges to maintain least privilege best practices * Experience in providing remediation inputs to system accreditation process and applying changes as needed * Experience in database script deployment within an Agile software development environment Salary Range: $156,000 USD - $234,000 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
