The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual overseeing the company's financial records and account personnel. You will be responsible for maintaining all procedures and controls related to the company's financial accounts.A' A' Function:A' Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to oversee and execute general accounting operations, manage the month-end process, and ensure accuracy of financial reporting and direct annual audit process. Prospective candidates should be organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and work independently to meet departmental deadlines.A' Organizational Relationships:A' Reports directly and works under the National Finance Director's supervision, but often have to support other accounting personnel,A' and vendors, and respond to requests from AMVETS employees.A' A' Duties and Responsibilities:A' A' Execute and oversee day-to-day operations ensuring proper treatment of accounting transactionsA' Routine bookkeeping including maintaining the general ledger, managing A/R & A/PA' Facilitate and execute month-end and year-end close processesA' Reconcile accounts, prepare account accruals, create and maintain supporting account schedulesA' Participate in improving internal controls, policies, procedures, and documentationA' Provide input into the department's goal-setting processA' Prepare and ensure accuracy of financial reportsA' Direct periodic and annual audits working directly with external auditorsA' Work effectively under tight deadlines in a team environmentA' A' Skill and Knowledge Requirements:A' Must have a BS/BA degree in accounting. CPA is desirable but not mandatory.A' Must be proficient in QuickBooks Online (preferably QBO Certified Pro-Advisor)A' At least 4-7 years of experience in month-end closings.
