Land Development Services (LDS) seeks a motivated, collaborative, analytically minded hardworking candidate to oversee the LDS Project Management Branch. This position would work in the Operations Division; the team's mission is "Align Business, People, Processes and Technology." The successful candidate would embrace that mission to lead the LDS Project Management Program. Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations for LDS, the Project Management Branch Chief -Project Coordinator position would:

Manages and supervises a group of engineering professionals, planners, technical staff; related para-professionals, and administrative positions that participate in the project management program. Promote, develop and implement best project management practices throughout all facets of the land development process. Provide guidance to staff to be facilitators in assisting clients in the processing of their development projects through the zoning, plan review, bonding, permitting, construction, inspection, tenant fit-out, and occupancy processes. Assists staff in providing procedural, regulatory and technical guidance throughout the land development process to assist with application, plan and/or permit approval, working closely with the clients and their contractors, engineers, and appropriate agencies etc. to facilitate resolution of issues/problems that arise. As requested, participates in the development of ordinances, policies and practices that directly affect the land development process.

Resolves safety-related matters in a timely manner. Position requires incumbent to operate a motor vehicle to drive to/from construction sites, offsite meetings, training and/or conferences. Complies with county, agency, and job specific training, including limited Emergency Management and Safety related courses.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, and six years of progressively responsible experience in or affiliated with land planning and/or redevelopment.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
A valid driver's license.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, credit check, and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.

All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs may be subject to a weekly testing requirement. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Registered Professional Engineer, Surveyor, Planner or Landscape Architect.
  • Six years of progressively responsible experience managing land development/improvement projects and process.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Significant experience using project scheduling/management software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires incumbent to be mobile with periods requiring sedentary tasks. Ability to operate computer driven equipment. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
