Job Announcement

Serves as a member of the Fairfax County Department of Family Services (DFS) Logistics Team. Researches, activates, and distributes benefit cards. Processes requests and maintains databases and spreadsheets for client emergency resources. Performs regional operations related to vehicle fleet, facility maintenance, inventory and supplies, and document management. Receives, monitors and approves/denies room reservation requests for multiple DFS locations. Performs basic troubleshooting of office equipment. Provides support and training to regional staff on the agency’s room and vehicle reservation systems. Participates on inter- and intra- agency teams to evaluate and develop processes and procedural improvements for site support and management of the offices. Serves as the backup for the lead Administrative Assistant IV, which includes coordination of confidential shredding. Performs other duties as assigned, including providing coverage at other regional offices as needed.

Note: The assigned functional areas of this position are general administrative, office management and/or customer service.

Employment Standards

Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation and two years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).

Valid driver's license.

The appointee to the position must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check, a driving record check, a credit check, and a Child Protective Services check.

All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process.   • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
