HVAC Mechanic III - Position 101744

Facilities Management at the University of Maryland College Park seeks qualified mechanics to provide HVAC maintenance and support to the campus facilities and to monitor and maintain associated equipment. Duties of the position include installing, repairing and maintaining HVAC equipment such as centrifugal, reciprocating, and screw compressors, hydronic systems and pumps, boilers, air handling units, chillers, unitary equipment, rooftop units and package units; and installing, diagnosing, and repairing all facets of temperature control systems to maximize system performance.

QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED; a valid Class “C” driver’s license or equivalent with fewer than 6 points; and have a minimum of eight years related experience. Universal CFC certification required.

SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary based on qualifications and experience. Position is Essential and subject to 24-hour/day, 7-day/week span of operation. Benefits include health, dental, vision and prescription insurance plans, tuition remission for employees and dependents, and participation in the State pension system.
