Sr. Process Manager (Senior Associate) - AML Instructional Designer

The Anti-Money Laundering University (AMLU) training team is seeking a collaborative, organized, creative individual to join our team. This role will be responsible for the design and development of a diverse set of learning materials to support our AML line of business. This individual will partner closely with key business partners to translate business intent into engaging learning materials. This individual will analyze learning needs, design and develop blended learning solutions. S/he will work closely to develop content, design e-Learning courses, create job aids and reference materials, and much more.

A successful candidate will be able to: Work in a strong team focused environment to deploy Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance training through a Learning Management System (LMS) and other modalities to associates across the Capital One Enterprise. The role is best suited to an individual passionate about continuous learning and able to apply learning in an ever-changing environment. Strong communication and facilitation skills and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing agile environment are essential to succeeding in this role.

General Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop curriculum, programs, learning materials, and performance support tools (including self-study, classroom, eLearning, etc.) based on industry design standards for a given modality (includes traditional, web-based, and mobile design)
  • Design content, including (but not limited to) measurable learning objectives, leaders and participant materials and tools, experiential scenarios, case studies, and simulations, assessment and evaluation questions
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for, knowledge of, and agility with new learning technologies in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Conduct needs analysis to determine the right learning solution for a variety of projects
  • Design training solutions that demonstrate an understanding of adult learning principles and leverage current learning trends, including multimedia (example: video) to enhance the learner experience
  • Participate in stakeholder, subject matter expert, and learner interviews that enable identification and curation of relevant content for the end-learner
  • Recommend, and document project instructional standards and strategies, learner engagement strategies, and evaluation plans
  • Engage with project team members to enable clarity of goal; conduct on-going reviews to ensure outcome is on track to meet client needs
  • Partner with other content developers to support material development needs, as appropriate
  • Create behavior-based case studies, assessments, and evaluation methods.
  • Consult with leaders on performance improvement and learning strategy
  • Assist leadership by identifying issues, diagnosing problems, generating alternative solutions, and analyzing opportunities and risks
  • Assume personal responsibility for projects and follow-through to completion with minimal need for direct supervision
  • Demonstrate proficient use of multiple rapid development content tools to create online e-Learning experiences
  • Participate in Train-the-Trainer activities, when applicable
  • Comfortable working in a team environment, as well as being an independent contributor
  • AML experience not required, but preferred


Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years of experience in Training, or Needs Analysis, or eLearning Development
  • At least 2 years of experience using Microsoft Office or Google Suite
  • At least 2 years of experience in instructional design methodology


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years of experience in instructional design or development
  • 3 years experience in instructional design methodology (i.e. ADDIE/SAM/AGILE)
  • 3 years experience in Authoring applications: Captivate, Articulate
  • Basic video and audio editing skills are a strong plus
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Exceptional professional communication and technical writing skills
  • Experience with project management and managing multiple, simultaneous tasks
  • Ability to learn and master new software applications quickly and thoroughly
  • Experience with facilitating trainings in a virtual setting
  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) experience
  • Ability to provide examples of training materials
  • 2 years of experience in Authoring applications (i.e. Captivate, Articulate)
