Kforce has a client that is seeking a Payroll Manager in Linthicum Heights, MD.Duties Include: * Payroll Manager will perform required tasks for on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls, including but not limited to approving and transmitting time, follow-up with off-site managers as required, timecard updates as required, updates of direct deposit, follow-up on un-cashed checks, calculations of retro or pro-rated pay, tax jurisdiction review and updates, review of address exception reports, collection of jury duty checks, generating stop payment requests, and review of payroll reports * Work closely with Human Resources to ensure all new hires, terminations or changes to active employees are reflected accurately and timely in the payroll system * Review of termination documentation and determination of final payout amounts for terminated employees * Ensure proper payroll taxes are setup and process deductions and garnishments * Oversee the payroll functions associated with the Company's 401(k) Plan and ensure the appropriate employee and employer contributions are processed accurately and timely * Work closely with outside benefit brokers to ensure company benefits are complete and accurate in both the payroll system and employees have proper benefit coverages per their enrollment packages * As a Payroll Manager, you will prepare payroll reconciliations and journal entries to the accounting department * Stays current on payroll system to maintain alignment with human resources, benefits, and other related issues and to ensure effective accounting support * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; Professional certification (eg, CPP, CPM) is a plus * Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, payroll taxes and related laws * 3-5 years of related experience required * Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently * Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
