The Director, Taxation is primarily responsible for identifying, resolving, documenting, and supporting all tax positions of the MissionSquare Retirement group of entities. Participates in day-to-day corporate and investment fund tax and regulatory reporting functions by providing technical research and advice, along with recommendations and opinions, as appropriate. Contributes to business planning and product development projects and partners with associates at senior staff and management levels on tax and regulatory matters. Essential Functions for this role include: Direct and manage tax and regulatory compliance research matters and support all department work functions and staff. Perform fact-finding, research and analysis involving a broad range of federal, state and foreign country tax issues, along with other business and regulatory reporting matters. Prepare reports and memoranda documenting rationale and technical support on issues and positions relevant to federal, state and foreign country tax and regulatory requirements. Support processes involving the preparation, technical review and timely filing of federal, state and foreign tax returns and regulatory reports. Draft board reports, management memoranda and financial statement disclosures applicable to corporate business operations and investment activities. Coordinate with in-house and outside firms and professional advisors, as appropriate. Perform or manage special project work and other duties, as assigned. If you have the following credentials, we encourage you to apply: 10+ years of experience as a tax specialist with exposure to governmental/regulatory reporting processes applicable to the financial services industry. Public accounting or law firm tax practice experience a plus.
