Financial Planning and Analysis (FP) is responsible for developing AARP's annual budget, three periodic financial forecasts, and multi-year financial plan. The team partners closely with the Enterprise Strategy Group to ensure financial resources are available and aligned with the strategic priorities as approved by AARP leadership and the Board. FP also provides an array of financial analytical services to AARP business groups, leadership and the Board. The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager manages the development and implementation of financial budgets and forecasts, including operating revenues, expenses, and other business drivers and metrics related to the Information Technology Systems (ITS) group. Reviews group performance and business processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. Develops high-value business partnerships to deliver financial solutions that significantly impact business results. Supports Finance and ITS management in a variety of ways, including developing analyses and reporting for use in data-driven, executive decision-making. Collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline finance processes that support the business unit/department and enterprise. Responsibilities: Provides financial planning and budgeting support for business units under management. Assesses changing business needs and impact to financial projections.Manages the development of high-value integrated solutions, including budgeting, forecasting, monthly close, risk and opportunity assessments, benchmarking, business case development, and operational analysis.Analyzes variances in budgets and forecasts with insight into business changes and outlook.Develops and analyzes financial statements (and related data); serves as a liaison to management for monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.Provides regular day-to-day financial guidance for clients including a full range of analytics-based financial recommendations.Leverages state-of-the-art financial software suite to continuously improve and automate financial reporting and analysis capabilities, including data visualization.Supports both Finance and enterprise-wide innovation. Qualifications: Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline (MBA highly preferred).5+ years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position.Must be an advanced user with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.Experience supporting an Information Technology team highly preferred.Preferred technical competencies include Financial Planning software tools such as Oracle EPM Cloud (formerly Hyperion), Smart View, and PeopleSoft. Requires background in traditional Financial Planning & Analysis and financial systems.Technical accounting knowledge and exposure (GAAP) preferred. CPA certification not required.Demonstrated leadership and strategic financial contributions in complex business settings. Experience working with executive and senior management to develop and implement successful strategic financial solutions.Effective verbal and written communication skills.In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise. Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
