Location: Washington, DC-area local.*This position requires US citizenship.The Cloud Automation Engineer will support the federal customer's Enterprise Storage and Data Protection (ESDP) branch in support of daily operations and maintenance with a focus on architecting, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based solutions and process automation in support of storage and data protection for Member offices, enterprise messaging, financial systems, vendor servers, CAO servers, databases, and application servers. The candidate will assist with system administration activities relating to the evolving House Enterprise Storage and Data Protection infrastructure consisting of over 4 Petabytes. This includes, but is not limited to, managing the ESDP environment, supporting capacity planning, providing performance and trending analyses, advanced troubleshooting and assisting with new technology integration, research, and deployment.Required Experience & Expertise:6 years of relevant experience with storage and data protection systems with a mixture of cloud and on-prem solutions.Evaluation, implementation, and management of production Commvault data protection software, as well as Commvault Hyperscale, AWS (storage and compute), PURE FlashBlade data protection targets, and Windows Media Agents.Evaluation, implementation, and management of PURE FlashBlade and FlashArray systems supporting block, file, and object-based storage.Implementation and maintenance of enterprise level automation via process and/or scripting.Communicating technical topics to elected officials, senior executives, managers, and IT professionals in a manner appropriate to their knowledge level.Ability to comprehend and integrate complex computer technology and software into an effective enterprise data protection and recovery strategy.Maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, users, contractors, and vendors.Relevant operating systems security (Windows, ESX, Solaris, Linux, etc.).Strong analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues with network/operating systems.Experience with some combination of PURE Snapshots, Commvault AuxCopies, Oracle Cloud, AWS S3 & EC2, GCP, Commvault Metallic, and/or Microsoft cloud (Azure, O365, Teams, SharePoint)Experience with Windows File server and share administrationDesirable qualifications:A bachelor's degree in the related field is preferred with consideration given to an equivalent combination of education and work experience.Understanding of ansible, python, and/or powershell scriptingUnderstanding of cloud technologies (storage, compute, backup of and target for storage and/or backup replication/aux copiesUnderstanding of VMware ESX; vSphere; vCenterUnderstanding of IT security and encryption technologiesUnderstanding of Network Attached Storage (NAS) technologiesUnderstanding of SAN Fabric (Cisco preferred)Understanding of file, block, and object storageUnderstanding of BCDR proceduresUnderstanding of DFSUnderstanding of Converged infrastructure technologiesUnderstanding of Data center layout and designsKnowledge of Hybrid, private, and public cloudsUnderstanding of Active/Active configurationsUnderstanding of Kubernetes, OpenShift, and containers in generalClearance requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.*This position is contingent on contract award.Why Join Gunnison?Gunnison takes on ambitious projects.
