About Us:Many Languages One Voice (MLOV) fosters leadership and facilitates community-led initiatives to increase the meaningful inclusion and civic participation of people in the District of Columbia who do not speak English as their primary language in decisions that impact their lives. We approach this by using uniquely integrated strategies that raise awareness of, educate, consult with, advocate for, and organize around the rights of the District's immigrant community of limited and non-English speakers.For over 10 years, MLOV has worked to build power among our community to change systemic inequalities by organizing and advocating for grassroots change. We sit at a critical crossroads in Washington, DC to promote language access, build Black-Brown solidarity. MLOV convenes 300+ African, Afro-Latinx, Asian and Pacific Islander, Caribbean, and Latinx members as advocates and organizers to enrich community-driven leadership.Development Director: The Development Director, in partnership with the Executive Director, will drive MLOV's Development Strategy. Currently, the majority of MLOV's fundraising efforts focus on foundation and government sources, therefore this role would have the opportunity to build MLOV's individual and corporate funding streams. The Director of Development will also be responsible for MLOV's post-award grant reporting, with assistance from support staff/consultant(s) as needed/budget permitting.This role is a full-time exempt position requiring a high-level of initiative, responsibility, creativity, and cultural competence. The expected salary range for this position is $73,000 - $78,000/year.Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis with an application deadline of August 31st, 2022.Responsibilities:Work with the MLOV Executive Director and Board Development Committee to:* Lead the fundraising efforts of MLOV, including individual-donor, foundation, government, and corporate fundraising based on MLOV's annual growth strategy (maintaining and growing our current organizational budget of $750,000).* Manage all proposals and reporting for foundation, government, and corporate grants.* Manage all post grant reporting deadlines and requirements to ensure timely post-grant submissions and site visits.* Establish a coherent fundraising strategy in partnership with Leadership staff and set actionable timelines and goals for implementation.* Create a business plan to attract new donors and retain legacy donors.* Serve as the lead for MLOV fundraising events, including volunteer committee recruitment and management;* Communicate grants measurement matrix and to ensure data is updated fortnightly.* In collaboration with communications staff: create an exceptional brand experience for donors - manage donor communications, including social media, annual report, event communications, and digital marketing to support donor cultivation;* Work with the Director of Finance and support staff to ensure proper gift processing, accounting, and reporting, and thank you letters for each donor;* Manage our donor database to ensure consistent, high-quality, interactions between MLOV and all donors;* In partnership with the Executive Director: maintain and nurture relationships with major individual/institutional donors;* In partnership with the Executive Director: foster a culture of philanthropy within MLOV and its Board of Directors;* Supervise development assistants, interns, and other support staff, as needed.* Staying attuned to fundraising trends and shifts in the non-profit community.Ideal candidate characteristics:* At least a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, specialized training in fundraising preferred;* At least four (4) years of experience engaging in high-impact Development activities for a non-profit organization (candidates with less Development experience should outline in their cover letter how other experience would be applicable to this position);* Commitment to contributing to a healthy working environment which values mutual support, respect, patience, and grace for colleagues;* High level of responsibility, initiative, creativity, and cultural competence;* Experience working with communities of color, immigrant communities, and under-resourced communities, preferred;* Experience with CRM, fundraising and grant management tools such as Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, Fluxx, Hubspot, is a plus.* Given occasional interactions with youth program participants, must possess or be willing to undergo the following background checks:* Current check from DC Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) Child Protection Registry (CPR)* Current check from Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check* Current check from Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Criminal Background Check, and* Current check from National Sex Offender Registry (NSO).We recognize that women and people of color may be less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every one of the qualifications as described in a job description.
