Responsibilities: As a Senior Space Systems Engineer you will assist the Chief Systems Engineer, as well as lead small teams in planning, deployment, integration, test, and configuration management of space domain awareness software tools. As a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of systems engineering, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in imaginative and practical ways; have extensive expertise as a journey-level professional; and perform work without appreciable direction. Assist in developing systems engineering processes for the planning, deployment, integration and test, configuration management of satellite ground station systemsEvaluate proposed architecture and engineering design changes to a prototype systemEffectively collaborate and drive communication with colleagues across teamsCreate briefings for Program Status Reviews including Course of Action decision briefsRepresents the organization in developing solutions to difficult technical problemsProvides input and status to the program integrated master schedule (IMS) and assumes responsibility for program tasksExercises sound judgement to avoid erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure or resources.Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical problems.* Minimal travel (<10%) is expected.** Qualifications: Required Qualifications:Must have BA/BS in an engineering or computer science fieldMust have eight (8+) years of related experience as a systems engineerFamiliarity with cloud architectures, such as AWS and OpenStackSelf-starter with ability to work independently and with stakeholdersExperience developing and supporting system integration processes such as,Configuration ManagementSoftware Release ManagementPatch ManagementChange ManagementDesired Qualifications:Master's degree (or the equivalent) in a technical fieldTwo (2+) years of experience in the Intelligence Community with systems engineering focusOne (1+) year of experience in software or hardware integrationDefensive space control, such as space operations and/or mission protection experience Peraton Overview: Peraton drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. For Colorado Residents: Colorado Salary Minimum: $90,200 Colorado Salary Maximum: $218,800 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
