As part of the Advanced Processing Solutions Business, the Systems Engineer in this position will specifically support initiatives related to Secure Processing. In today's dynamic digital threat environment, the secure processing capabilities at Northrop Grumman are helping keep the nation and its allies safe. As a member on our Secure Processing team, you can help contribute in pushing the boundaries of what innovation and security mean not just today, but also the future. This position may be filled at the Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer level. Responsibilities Interfaces with suppliers, customers, and ultimately works to ensure the testability and manufacturability of microelectronic devices, specifically multi-chip modules (MCM) and silicon wafers. Performs quality analysis related to multiple levels of total system product to include, but not be limited to: test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total system product validates / acknowledges desired specifications, in addition to meeting related technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. May also perform technical planning, integrated circuit (IC) system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses. Basic Qualifications for Systems Engineer: Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) such as Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or a similar technical discipline with 2 years of related experience, or 0 years with a Master's Degree. Understanding detailed models and simulations of microelectronic circuits or systems for design verification Professional hands-on experience in systems engineering tools including requirements management tools such as Jama or DOORS, modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect or IBM Rational, and analysis software such as MATLAB and Python. System requirements development Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain US Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications for Systems Engineer: Master's Degree Systems Engineering Semiconductor device assembly (2.5D/3D) and/or semiconductor device testing experience. Software or Hardware design experience directly related to semiconductors and/or integrated circuits. Experience with analysis, design, fabrication, or test of superconducting electronics or semiconductor processing equipment. Digital or analog design validation and test experience. Experience utilizing or implementing Lean Electronics or Agile development practices. Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) such as Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or a similar technical discipline with 5 years of related experience, or 3 years with a Master's Degree, or 0 years with a PhD. Understanding detailed models and simulations of microelectronic circuits or systems for design verification Professional hands-on experience in systems engineering tools including requirements management tools such as Jama or DOORS, modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect or IBM Rational, and analysis software such as MATLAB and Python. System requirements development Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain US Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer: Master's Degree Systems Engineering Semiconductor foundry experience, specifically wafer foundry manufacturing Software or Hardware design experience directly related to semiconductors and/or integrated circuits. Experience with analysis, design, fabrication, or test of superconducting electronics or semiconductor processing equipment. Digital or analog design validation and test experience. Experience utilizing or implementing Lean Electronics or Agile development practices. Salary Range: $78,600 USD - $118,000 USD Salary Range 2: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
