N Position Type Management JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for a highly dynamic individual to join our Enterprise Products architecture team. This individual will be responsible for architecture and design of technology solutions and platforms that support enterprise products transformation. We are embarking on a journey to transform the core applications that run the Marriott enterprise. The right candidate will help expand the company's use of technology to enable and achieve the organization's goals and objectives. Strategically architects enterprise-level solutions that deliver on business outcomes while ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance. This member works as part of the product team and works collaboratively with the Product Owner and Engineering teams to designs, develop, and implement solutions. This role is accountable for ensuring that the solutions leverage the defined enterprise standards, patterns, and best practices. Candidate is expected to lead Commerce & Enterprise applications architecture efforts including but not limited to order management system & centralized reservation system. You will work closely with IT, developers, system administrators, and end users to build state-of-the-art implementations for Marriott's Enterprise platform capabilities. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Required: Undergraduate degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering) or equivalent experience 10+ years' progressive experience in the field of software development & architecture, demonstrating progressive career growth. 3+ years' work experience developing transition and target state architectures viz., Solution, Data, Integration and Deployment Architectures for large scale digital transformations using artifacts like conceptual and logical diagrams, data models, domain models, use case journeys, and roadmaps. Strong grasp on the modern architecture & design concepts Experience in defining domain driven architectures for large enterprises and ability to define micro services / APIs across domains. Experience in defining cloud deployment topology for applications with consideration of high availability, high performance while ensuring data sanctity across deployments. Experience in defining or implementing NFRs. Excellent presentation & negotiation skills, experience in presenting to the senior technology as well as business leadership. Experience in designing event streaming based high performance, highly scalable and high availability applications using messaging & streaming technologies. Passionate learner who actively seeks to learn about new technologies and design approaches. Preferred: Hospitality experience is highly preferred. Proven experience of deploying solutions in Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, and On-Prem environments Passionate learner who actively seeks to learn about new technologies and approaches Experience in eCommerce functions like cart, checkout, order, payments desired Thorough understanding of a product's lifecycle right from its inception in PIM to order submission all the way into fulfillment. Experience in evaluating and monitoring platform health, developing capacity plans, and managing the platform roadmap. Experience with application monitoring and log aggregation tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, AppD Experience in infra sizing Experience with an Enterprise grade API Gateway, preferably AKANA Experience with AWS development and deployment services including but not limited to EC2, S3/EBS/EFS, Lambda, Aurora/Dynamo DB & EMR. Understanding of OSE & Kubernetes. Hands on experience with RDBMS & noSQL databases. Hands on programming experience with sound knowledge of asynchronous & functional programming. Experience in shirt sizing applications, creating roadmaps & architecture vision. Strong understanding of the data protection & privacy laws across geographies and their impact on deployment topologies. Deep understanding of the concept of technical debt, its control & its balance against the business objectives. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Managing The Day-To-Day Data Architecture Develops and delivers long-term strategic goals for technology architecture vision and standards in conjunction with Service Providers, users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders Assesses and determines governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing technology across the organization Creates short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term objectives and an overall technology management roadmap Conducts technology life cycle, duration, usage requirements, feasibility studies, and other tasks Identifies and develops opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirement Verifies that technology strategies and architectures are in regulatory compliance Developing and Maintaining EA Standards Develops and promotes technology management methodologies and standards Defines standards for Service Providers to address technology-related problems in regards to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple-platform integration Defines guidelines for Service Providers to develop and implement key components as needed to create testing criteria in order to guarantee the fidelity and performance of technology architecture Defines guidelines for Service Providers for documenting the technology architecture and environment in order to maintain a current and accurate view of the larger technology picture Building Successful Relationships Project Managers and business unit leaders for all projects involving enterprise applications Acts as a leader and advocate of technology management, including coaching, training, and career development to staff Liaises with vendors and Service Providers to select the products or services that best meet company goals.
