Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Seeking a Senior Engineer with experience in MATLAB/Simulink development for nuclear power plant applications. Must have nuclear operational plant experience. Will be part of a dynamic, cutting edge design team by characterizing reactor and power conversion system behavior in terms of capabilities, constraints, and interactions with other systems. This engineer will be responsible for the steady state and transient analyses of the reactor, the power conversion cycle, as well as its support systems. Responsibilities Work with the Discipline Lead and System Engineers to develop analysis workflows and document them in an analysis plan in accordance with the Northrop Grumman Quality Assurance (QA) program. Establish and perform plant modeling using MATLAB/Simulink. The purpose of the model may relate to component sizing, studies to determine operating ranges, supporting design-by-analysis, performance verification, or accident analyses. Propose design/control solutions to system engineers, based on insights gained from the analyses. Write reports to document model. Basic Qualifications: 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD. BS (Advanced degree preferred) in Nuclear, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from a US accredited university or equivalent years experience. Expertise with MATLAB/Simulink programming languages and scripting experience Experience with programming in one or more of the following: C#, C++, Python, VisualBasic, or Matlab. Practical experience with power systems, thermal energy equipment, or industrial plants. (desired) Familiarity with industrial process control and control theory. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with NQA-1 or equivalent quality control. (Preferred but not required) Salary Range: $120,000 USD - $180,000 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
