Your Job We are seeking a Director of Engineering to help lead Trust & Safety as it grows in size and grows in responsibilities to protect users from malicious and low-quality actors on In this role, you will lead a group of smart, creative, problem-solving engineers who exhibit high energy, deep technical skills, a drive to get things done, and a passion for protecting users. You will work with counterparts in the Product organization to set direction and ensure the solutions your team builds have a measurable impact on protecting job seekers and employers on We are looking for someone who can execute fast with engineering excellence as you will drive multiple critical work streams. As part of our cross-functional Trust & Safety Engineering team, you will work on solutions with data scientists, engineers, operations analysts, and product managers to keep fraudulent and illegal activity off of the Indeed platform and enforce a high bar for posted content. Your team will collaborate with product teams across the company to identify opportunities for improvement and points of integration with our moderation platform and tools. Day to day, you will find yourself leading improvements across multiple products, helping us to integrate machine learning models into our quality enforcement solutions, and driving improvements to how we stop malicious and low-quality actors. You will help us design how to protect users of new products on as they mature, so you will have an impact that extends well beyond the confines of your team. Responsibilities: Enrich and build great teams who are focused on delivering high-quality results with speed Identify promising opportunities to improve engineering velocity through systems and tools Lead your group to develop, align, and deliver on measurable goals to protect users. Evolve your team's products, tools, and infrastructure to enable faster responses to new types of abuse, bad content, or products in order to protect more users. Lead cross-functional and cross-team discussions Who You Are Who you are: You have experience building technical solutions across software engineering teams (backend Java background preferred) Significant prior success as a software engineering leader working on challenging problems and solutions that are global, highly scalable, performant that required rapid execution with high quality Experience managing and coaching managers as well as senior technologists Experience using test automation, CI/CD to ensure high quality of software products, have expertise building core or foundational enterprise-level services and have experience guiding distributed teams to deliver software through rapid iteration Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or adjacent field required Who we are We are a rapidly growing and highly-capable Engineering organization building the most popular job site on the planet. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
