NCOA, a national voice for every American's right to age well, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Director, IT Services , in its Arlington, VA/Crystal City office. The Senior Director of IT Services will be accountable for the management and integrity of technology and information platforms across the enterprise as well as the infrastructure support needed for the organization. The Senior Director of IT will be a collaborative, influential leader who will leverage technology to advance the integration, quality, effectiveness, and efficacy of the enterprise IT systems components. He/she will also actively participate as a thought-leader within the senior management teams of NCOA. The Senior Director of IT will report directly to the CFO of NCOA. As a member of the senior management team, the Senior Director of IT will facilitate changes that streamline the organization's technology services, establish roles and responsibilities, balance the elimination of redundancies against the need to eliminate single points of failure, and identify opportunities for enterprise-wide collaboration across the organization. The Senior Director of IT is expected to develop strong relationships and partnerships across all business units and to foster an environment of collaboration and transparency. He/she will identify and encourage synergies among business units, maximize opportunities for shared infrastructure and common systems, and deploy technologies needed to support the individual units within the organization. The Director of Enterprise Applications/Data Integration and the Director of IT Operations/Security, each having some subordinate staff as well, will report directly to the Senior Director of IT. The ideal candidate will have proven IT leadership and systems integration experience and have demonstrable experience delivering successful outcomes in a decentralized environment. He/she must be able to work with multiple project/product teams simultaneously and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Senior Director of IT is expected to facilitate the evolution of current IT solutions while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiencies. The candidate is expected to quickly familiarize himself/herself with the existing technologies that are currently implemented and to determine how best to proceed with innovation that both complements and enhances the existing systems architecture. The ideal incumbent will have a leadership style that embodies a mix of transformational and servant-leadership and is driven by motivating teams and enhancing processes and systems that promote the most efficient work practices. Key responsibilities include the following: * Responsible and accountable for the knowledge management and information technology assets leveraged throughout the organization. * Responsible for the IT Operations "Shared Services" team, led by the Director of IT Operations/Security, that provides day-to-day operational services encompassing performance, systems availability, availability of multiple web sites, reporting and analytics, as well as capacity planning. * Working in support to programmatic and product area subject matter experts ("SMEs"), responsible for creating, promoting and deploying a strategic, integrated vision for enterprise IT solutions that aligns with the business, operational, and financial objectives of the organization. * Oversees the Director of Enterprise Applications and other IT staff on NCOA's enterprise applications that support many of NCOA's operations; together partnering with the NCOA Product and Program Owners to execute on their visions and roadmap; working closely with other IT resources and outside partners. * Reviews, establishes, and maintains IT policies, "best practices", and processes and procedures that are implemented across the enterprise business units. * Promotes collaborative innovation, transparency and visibility into product development activities across the enterprise business units. * Oversees the Director of IT Operations/Security for implementation of consistent data security, integrity and privacy standards, and compliance across the enterprise. Directs and evaluates security audits and risk assessments for each of the business units' use of technology. * Directs and reviews activities and objectives of the NCOA collaborative team to produce a viable, integrated methodology for application development that adheres to the enterprise technology roadmap, standards and procedures and includes responsibilities assigned across the various product development teams, in addition to those within the IT team. * Responsible for preparing and managing to the enterprise-wide IT budget; ensuring that expenditures align with the technology roadmap and business plan. * Establishes and cultivates vendor relationships; negotiates vendor contracts and maintenance agreements for enterprise infrastructure components. * Provides the vision and leadership required to develop and execute growth strategies while fostering a collaborative and diverse work environment that thrives on accountability, innovation, integrity, creative problem-solving, motivating staff, mentoring managers, and developing leaders. * In partnership with various technology SMEs and program area experts, incumbent will remain well informed of emerging technology trends and the relevant marketplace and will consider these in anticipating the future technology-related needs of the organization and our consumers. * Other duties as required. Professional Experience/Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field of study; Master's degree preferred * 10+ years of experience directing/implementing IT infrastructure services: desktop, network, hosting, security, availability and performance, capacity, business continuity and disaster recovery, etc. * 10+ years of experience in software application development, including reporting and analytics solutions * Excellent project management skills with goal tracking and metrics competency supporting oversight of multiple concurrent project initiatives across the enterprise. * 10+ years of Leadership experience managing multiple, independent teams/disciplines * Demonstrable experience establishing strategic direction and operations of an enterprise architecture * High level of integrity with results-orientation and a strong sense of urgency * A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and complex problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making, with the desire to brainstorm future-thinking ideas. * Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders * Track record of balancing the coordination of fast-paced daily priorities with important, longer-term strategic efforts NCOA is an equal opportunity employer.
