**This position requires an active Secret level clearance Location: Based out of Alexandria, VA with OCONUS Travel Required Summary Seeking a systems engineer to serve as a Test Engineer to join a fast paced, cross-functional Counter Unmanned Aircraft System (CUAS) project team assigned to conduct acceptance and operational evaluation assessments. The Test Engineer will work with emerging technologies to detect, track, counter or mitigate small drones. The Test Engineer will report directly to the Senior Test Engineer to design test methods and execute test plans to determine product performance. The Test Engineer will conduct analysis for data collection activities to ensure the tools and methods to effectively capture data, and assess data quality. The Test Engineer will be responsible for identifying patterns in data and distill the conclusions into written and visual aid formats to inform decision makers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct test planning and data collection activities Develop strategies to test and verify systems and make recommendations to improve testing and operational demonstration. Document and analyze test data. Develop strategies and materials for transition of systems to operational environments. Present information and briefings to senior managers orally and in writing. Responsible for test execution Conducts general test support to include test set-up and tear-down Draft test reports Safely fly/operate small drones SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY No supervisory/management authority. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, or Engineering is required with 4yrs of applicable experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Test Design Test Management Data collection Statistical modeling Database management Report generation Data visualization Data analysis SAS Certification or equivalent experience Knowledge of functional testing procedures and protocols Ability to work collaboratively to solve problems within a cross-functional development team Knowledge of Agile development and systems engineering processes Experience effectively and professionally communicating technical and program related information to multiple stakeholders and adherence to established communications plans. Candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities in dynamic, politically sensitive environments ensuring customer expectations are managed. WORK ENVIRONMENT Travel: ~10% to support test development. Physical requirements can include walking, climbing, crawling through small spaces, and standing or sitting for long periods of time.
