Wage & Operations CoordinatorGeorge Mason University Information Technology Services (ITS), located on the Fairfax, Va. campus, invites applications for a Wage & Operations Coordinator position within the Learning Support Services, Classroom & Lab Technologies team. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:The Wage and Operations Coordinator will work with a dynamic team to serve as the primary scheduler for student positions in CaLT (Classroom Support) and coordinator of the Support Services wage staff which includes students assigned to both Classroom and Lab Technologies and Instructional Technology and Media Services. The coordinator will also be responsible for hiring, training, onboarding, and scheduling wage employees, as well as their performance management and timesheet activities.Required Qualifications:Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience;Experience working in a team environment to complete complex assignments with tight deadlines;Experience effectively working without close supervision and as part of a collaborative team;Experience using resource scheduling software;Experience using common office productivity tools;Demonstrated work experience in a support, help desk, dispatcher, or similar role directly supporting the technical needs of clients;Experience aligning client needs to departmental resources;Demonstrated work experience effectively supervising and scheduling shift workers in a customer support environment;Demonstrated skill in providing effective customer service, including resolving client issues, escalating issues as needed and communicating progress to customers;Demonstrated proficiency in successfully and efficiently supporting technology;Demonstrated skill in effective written and oral communication;Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise part-time staff and shift workers; andAbility to manage workers on numerous assignments across multiple shifts.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a higher education environment;Experience using automated ticketing system for incident reporting, tracking, escalation, and closing;Demonstrated foundational knowledge of audiovisual technology, including projectors and displays, and familiarity of basic diagnostics;Vendor or industry association certification in audiovisual technologies; andVendor or industry association certification in management or supervision.Salary is commensurate with education and experience.George Mason University is a great place to work where employees are given an opportunity to develop skills and expand horizons.
