Job Description

The Strategic Merchandising Execution Manager is responsible for helping to further the strategic planning of projects and programs while ensuring the success and operational effectiveness of Center Store Category initiatives and their execution by Store Operations Teams.

The Manager will work in a cross-functional environment as the facilitator to ensure collaboration, communication, visibility, and successful delivery of Center Store Merchandising projects. This position will achieve project, program and planning deliverables while escalating issues that may affect deliverables. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the process of taking the strategic category vision/gameplan/roadmap and build the strategy for bringing it to life at the store level.
  • Provide project/program support to ensure internal, external, cross-functional, project plans are in place.
  • Work directly with Leadership, Center Store Category Teams, & Center Store Merchandising Managers, along with key external partners to support project and program deliverables.
  • Plan and manage multiple concurrent complex projects and programs.
  • Support and lead key initiatives that have cross-functional impact.
  • Support the store execution of projects and programs.
  • Develop plans, schedules, deliverables, resource assignments, status reports, and playbooks.
  • Provide regular status updates to Leadership.
  • Identify, communicate, and seek resolution to issues and risks in a timely fashion.
  • Collaborate across departments and external vendors to develop plans and targeted initiatives.
  • Identify key stakeholders who are critical to the development and execution of the plan and anticipate potential roadblocks to promote proactive planning and avoid reactionary measures as much as possible.
  • Collaborate with Category teams & Center Store Field Execution Team on policies, processes, standards, and metrics.
  • Lead multiple stakeholders to align on common goals and communicating risks, running effective meetings.
  • Recommend improvements to established business processes while continuing to deliver high value in execution.
  • Develop consistent rapport and processes by building cross-functional relationships with Center Store Category Teams, Center Store Merchandising Managers, Merchandising Planning Team, Marketing, Warehouse & Transportation Departments, vendor contacts and other areas of the organization on an as-needed basis.
  • Conduct store visits to monitor execution of projects and programs.
  • Own the success of projects by assisting in the development and adjustment of target financial goals based on strategic initiatives.
  • Effectively manage a hybrid work schedule to balance time between the corporate office, stores, and remote work to maximize productivity.

Essential Skills

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor\u0027s degree in Business, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience effectively leading successful team of at least 20-30 manager level employees.
  • 3-5 years of experience in store operations, preferably as a Center Store Merchandising/Sales Manager.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and capacity to develop and deliver presentations, including experience in creating visually compelling decks and materials.
  • Excellent time management, organization, analytical and planning skills.
  • Functional level leadership with the ability to inspire, motivate and drive results.
  • Highly adaptable and agile in a fast-paced hyper-growth environment; able to thrive within ambiguity.
  • Respectful and influential; you can push back when needed and can approach work rationally.
