Job Description: PARALEGAL ANALYST I (DC Metro) JOB SUMMARY:This is a junior-level opportunity for someone who will work with a number of attorneys in the Legal Department on a variety of matters related to contracting and licenses or registrations for our business. As such, attention to detail, superior writing ability, and talent for gathering and communicating information effectively are critical. The position would be great for someone contemplating law school and wanting to gain meaningful exposure and experience across a variety of areas of the law, including contracts, corporate law, and government procurement. A paralegal certificate is not required for this position. No experience is required, but the underlying skills listed below are critical. The role is expected to cover for an existing paralegal who is on leave, and then evolve into an expansion position to support the legal work for our growing transportation and other public sector businesses. The Paralegal will report to the Associate General Counsel. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Data base administration, including managing and maintaining data base of lawyer work product, contract templates, delegations of authority, and corporate officersProcessing, submitting, and maintaining government registrations and licensesCoordinating the acquisition of information to complete certifications and representationsSupporting Legal Department attorneys in areas of researchOther duties and special projects as assignedQUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:The ideal candidate would:Be analyticalHave superior communication and problem-solving skillsBe highly organized, able to multi-task, and able to work independentlyHave computer skills, including the use of Word, Excel (experience with computer databases a plus)Consistently demonstrate phenomenal attention to detailPractice absolute discretionBe a helpful team playerRequired Experience:None required, though some experience with a large law firm or corporate legal department would be considered a plus. Required Education: BA, with strong academic performance in relevant subjects, is required.
