Overview: Recruiting an Industrial Mechanic who can safely perform various mechanical repairs, inspections, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of typical cement plant equipment. Desired skills include mechanical and repair knowledge of some or all equipment in the plant (crushers, conveyor belts, balls mills, vertical mills, baghouses), welding, fabricating and correcting misalignments. The ideal candidate will be open to learning and developing self in the role while being a strong team player. Holcim offers: Starting pay beginning at $31.00 per hour Medical/Dental/Vision insurance coverage within the first 30 days 401k in first 30 days with company match Responsibilities: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Practice and promote safety in such way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE. Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment Follows all safety procedures, checks for safety hazards, and takes corrective action to eliminate safety hazards. Focuses and maintains a clean and orderly work area and participates in plant housekeeping activities. Adheres to Company environmental policies. Performs tasks associated with maintaining mechanical systems throughout the plant Work with contractor personnel and ensure quality control as well as productivity. Participates in formal and on-the job training programs to acquire/broaden both technical and non-technical job skills; participates in cross training activities. Interacts with members in Production on a regular basis to gather or communicate information, solve problems, etc. Assists with preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment. Services and lubricates plant equipment as required. Suggests programs that reduce/contain costs and/or increase productivity. Takes independent action to resolve problems when appropriate. Participates in team meetings. Applies skills and performs work in other positions as assigned. Supports other plant functions as assigned. Adheres to all company policies. Qualifications: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Required Education: High School diploma/GED Additional Education Preferred: Two years technical college in a related subject Required Work Experience: 2-4 years industrial experience as a millwright is required. Experience with rebuilding gearboxes, shaft alignment on heavy industrial equipment, bearing installation is desired. Additional Requirements: Knowledge of overall cement plant operations, or comparable heavy industrial environment, is preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license #HOLCIM2
