The Boeing Company's Argon ST group in located in Fairfax, VA is seeking an Associate Embedded Software Engineer who can leverage hardware with limited size, weight and power to implement complex and dynamic processing capabilities with a focus on performance, efficiency, responsiveness, and throughput. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. We're looking for an engineer who brings fresh ideas to solve our customers' most complex problems. An ideal candidate is one who creates new capabilities alongside existing capabilities and maximizes their efficiency by aligning software design with system architecture. In this position, you will design, prototype, develop, and deliver embedded software for Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) products for the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and allied customers. You'll work on the core processing infrastructure of our products to help balance open architectures with efficient processing and program execution. You will create software for both servers and single board computers. You will contribute to collaborative, cross-functional teams of engineers performing software development, firmware development, hardware design, system integration, system engineering, and user testing. Our products intercept Radio Frequency (RF) signals, apply signal processing algorithms, distribute the processed results, and display them to operators. They are deployed to manned aircrafts, unmanned aircrafts, ships, submarines, and ground mobile platforms. Your work will ensure that signal data is detected, processed, routed, analyzed, reported, and stored both correctly and efficiently and that all appropriate resulting actions are executed. Position Responsibilities: Participate in full life cycle software development tasks utilizing primarily C++ and Python Participate in requirements analysis, benchmarking, prototyping, software design, coding, unit testing, integration, installation, and support Develop new ideas based on technical and domain experience Operate in agile teams and work independently as needed to solve complex problems Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements: This position requires the ability to obtain a Top Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final US Top Secret Clearance Post-start is required. Hybrid This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will have the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule, performing work weekly onsite and remotely. Please note that the hybrid work schedule is subject to program/business needs. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent Bachelor's degree 2+ years' experience developing low latency and real time embedded software 2+ years' experience developing software interfaces, microservices, and data transfer mechanisms 2+ years' experience in a collaborative team providing and receiving software/design feedback 2+ years' of development experience in Java, python, or C/C++ Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance Post Start Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 3+ years' experience designing and developing software for complex systems such as Distributed Systems, Multi-Threaded and Multi-Process Applications, and Client-Server Architectures Creative, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills A solid foundation in computer science, software engineering, and best practices for embedded software. Experience with GPU programming, parallel computing, and development in CUDA Software development in a Linux environment Development experience in Java Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) system experience Current Top-Secret SCI clearance Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (eg Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (eg PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience) In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
