SBD is looking for a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our team supporting our HR team located in Vienna, VA.The Senior Human Resources Generalist works extensively and collaboratively with the Vice President, Human Capital and is responsible for carrying out activities such as training & development, performance management, employee and labor relations, onboarding, offboarding, regulatory and corporate compliance, quality assurance, and special projects. This individual is responsible for ensuring all policies conform to regulatory requirements and works closely with the Vice President, Human Capital in supporting and promoting policies and procedures and strategic alignment of HR strategic objectives and activities.Responsibilities Include:Effectively supports 200+ employees located in multiple locations nationwide.Works in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team and Hiring Managers to understand skills and competencies required for positions and to ensure that hiring occurs in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines.Reviews, revises, and updates job descriptions and Corporate Resumes in accordance with company standards.Works closely with the Vice President, Human Capital in leading change control, organizational change, process documentation and training efforts, and as a supporting role in cross-functional projects.Creates learning paths and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.Actively participates in developing new programs or tools for the growth and development of the department.Handles development and routing of letters of hire, letters of separation, and other confidential personnel and independent contractor documents under the direction of the Vice President, Human Capital.Executes revisions to documents to make sure that the current versions of all Human Resources documents and forms are available to employees.In coordination with the HR Generalist, manages all ADA accommodation requests, following up with related documentation as needed, and serving as an information source for the employee.Maintains responsibility for corporate compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to all labor matters, ie wage and hour regulations, FMLA, CFRA, COBRA, ADA and EEO, unemployment compensation, worker's compensation, and other applicable requirements.Participates in audits, compliance reporting, and other employee related inquiries.Ensures daily, monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual compliance requirements are met individually and by professional level staff within the timelines provided by Operations executive leadership.Maintains affirmative action program and collaborates with 3rd party partner for reporting and analysis, annual VETS-4212 submission, liaison with PEO to provide support for annual EEO-1 filing, and 1094-C & 1095-C filing; and maintains other records and reports to comply with federal, state, and local regulations.Assists the Vice President, Human Capital in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR systems, sites, and databases.Assists in the preparation of standard government reports required by the federal, state, and local agencies.Assists with the planning for an effective and informative new employee onboarding process and orientation sessions.Assists the Vice President, Human Capital in updating corporate policies and procedures; recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.Assists the Vice President, Human Capital in handling employee relations counseling, provides support to employees in various HR-related topics, and resolves issues and conflicts.Provides support and guidance to the HR Generalist, Payroll, management, and other staff when complex specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.Provides support to Process Owner in the company's quality and risk management systems Human Resources processes. Contributes to and participates in internal and external audits.Creates/prepares reports and analysis using the HR information systems, and other software, as required. Compiles and distributes analytics, statistical data, and assists with special projects.Prepares key management reports and makes recommendations on a variety of human resources issues to ensure organizational development and regulatory compliance.Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Experience and Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a related field. 4+ years of increasingly responsible experience as an HR Generalist may be substituted for the degree with a strong background in government contracting. HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) a plus.Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.Ability to work independently with little supervision.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in handling difficult and/or sensitive situations, personally identifiable information, salary, and other type personnel information.Must have an impeccable work ethic, the ability to make sound decisions, and a commitment to integrity and accountability.Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; can clearly explain reasoning for decisions; includes appropriate people in decision-making process; demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles while remaining professional at all times.Completes tasks on time; takes responsibility for own actions; can be relied upon.Must have an understanding of Human Resources best practices and current regulations.Demonstrates foundational knowledge of HR policies and practices. Adept in statistical report writing and HR-related reports.Must have excellent interpersonal skills.Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Must be analytical and meticulous.Ability to apply lateral thinking to challenging situations and forward-thinking skills to all facets of the role.Must be a motivated self-starter.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; specifically, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook a must.Experience with Power BI a plus.Hands-on experience with Adobe Pro a must.Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint a plus.Must live within a commutable distance to Vienna, VA in order to work onsite 1-3 days/week as required.Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, unless a medical exemption or religious accommodation is approved. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their last dose of their vaccine. Confirmation of vaccine is required.
