Position OverviewA' The Director serves as AGA's lead and SME on member company peer reviews, leads AGA staff and member company representatives in committee work, organizes all manner of forums for member collaboration, and leads the production of technical publications.A' Role and ResponsibilitiesA' A' Enhanced Peer Review ProgramA' Serve as AGA's lead on AGA member company peer reviews.A' AGA's Enhanced Peer Review Program is a voluntary peer-to-peer safety and operational practices review program that allows local natural gas utilities to observe their peers, share leading practices and identify opportunities to further enhance safety and deliverability to customers and communities.A' AGA's lead on a peer review will:A' Lead reviews for participating member companies throughout the US and CanadaA' Serve as AGA's subject matter expert on topics such as Safety Culture, Technical Training & Worker Procedures, Pipeline Safety Risk Management, Construction Contractor Relations, Quality Management, Damage Prevention, Emergency Management & Public Safety, Systems Records Management, Safety at Customer Touch Points, Key Performance Indicators for Gas Operations, Pipeline Safety Management Systems (PSMS) Elements, and Workforce Development & Succession PlanningA' Lead a subject review team during a company's peer review or virtual assessment, including keeping the team on time and task, asking questions of those being interviewed, ensuring the review team has all materials needed to effectively conduct the review, and serving as AGA's liaison with the host companyA' Develop daily summaries of a company's review, based on input received from the subject matter experts participating in the review.A' Develop a full executive summary or virtual assessment summary of the review team's key observations and findings that can be used by the company executive conducting the host company's debriefingA' In advance of the peer review, work with member companies on developing the interview schedule and participate in meetings with the subject matter experts administering a host company's reviewA' Member and Industry InitiativesA' Lead AGA staff and/or member company representatives in developing and implementing initiatives to meet AGA strategic objectives or bring in revenue, including educational events, publications, activities related to pipeline safety and gas utility operations, appropriate business partnerships, etc.A' Organize and conduct industry workshops, conferences, roundtables, and webinars by developing agendas, confirming speakers, working through event logistics, leading discussions, and possibly giving presentations.A' Lead AGA staff and/or member company representatives on developing publications, industry position papers, and industry comments for proposed rulemakings.A' Administer the work of technical committees, task groups, and Discussion Groups.A' Develop and manage budgets for specific areas of responsibilityA' Stay abreast of industry developments, particularly those associated with pipeline safety rulemakingsA' Generate ideas to improve the productivity and efficiency of the Operations and Engineering Section and AGA's strategic management objectives.A' Qualifications and Education RequirementsA' A' Experience working with natural gas distribution or transmission operations.A' Awareness of regulations affecting the natural gas industry.A' Ability to clearly communicate technical issues, both orally and in writing, to technical and non-technical audiences.A' Demonstrated ability to create executive reports addressing technical topics.A' Ability to organize and conduct major workshops from start to finishA' Ability to develop and deliver presentations in public forums A' Experience facilitating group discussions and projects.A' Ability to travel domestically to member sites.A' Must reside in the United States, certain states excluded.A' Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant work experience.A'
