Administrative CoordinatorThe George Mason University Office of the Provost is seeking a part-time (20-25 hours per week) Administrative Coordinator position to provide administrative and executive calendaring support. This position will support a variety of office functions for the Office of the Provost, including but not limited to: managing the Provost's calendar and daily schedule, assisting with the coordination of events and meetings, and making arrangements for meetings and delegations.Responsibilities:Scheduling Support: Works closely with the Operations and Administration Manager to manage the Provost's calendar and daily schedule; proactively resolving calendaring conflicts before they arise; responding to internal and external calendaring requests; and providing requested materials to meeting constituents.Special Projects & Events: Assist with the planning coordination and management of high-profile meetings, programs and events that raise the visibility of the Office of the Provost, including but not limited to: non-academic unit visits, Provost's Office Opening Session, Deans and Provost's Team Retreats.Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Office of the Provost, including welcoming guests, connecting technology for virtual meetings, preparing conference rooms, and providing excellent customer service in a calm, professional manner to all key customer groups, including but not limited to: the President's Office, Deans and members of the Provost's Senior Staff; colleagues and co-workers; guests from state and local governments and/or governing bodies, or visitors from other institutions of higher education.Attend meetings as requested to serve as note taker and provide summary notes to attendees highlighting action items.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience;Experience in a fast-paced executive office and demonstrated customer service experience required. Demonstrated qualifications to successfully work and communicate with a diverse internal and external community in a professional manner;Extensive knowledge of professional office procedures;Demonstrated computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite;Demonstrated writing and communication skills;Ability to work under pressure; multitask; handle confidential issues; work well with others in a team environment; must have a professional demeanor; andAbility to schedule and adjust meetings, calls, events and travel while being mindful of the urgency, priority and ever-changing schedules. Requires high attention to detail to resolve calendar conflicts before they arise.Preferred Qualifications:Experience providing administrative support to an executive.Compensation and Hours:$15.00 - $22.00 per hour based on the competencies/qualifications of the candidate20-25 hours a week; M-F 1:00-5:00pm; in person
