Scholarship Production Lab Coordinator George Mason University Libraries is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to coordinate the Scholarship Production Lab (SP@RC). About the Position:This position is responsible for coordinating Fenwick Library's Scholarship Production Lab, a central campus location that provides assistance to faculty and students in sharing the results of their scholarship, research, and creative activities. The position organizes and creates workshops and drop-in consultation sessions for researchers, and collaborates with multiple constituents both internal and external to the Libraries.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience;Knowledge of online and print information and research sources (print, electronic), such as online library catalogs, electronic databases, search engines;Experience with using design software such as MS PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, or GIMP;Experience with using MS Word and MS Excel;Experience with working on a team and/or customer service;Skill in planning, effective time management, and follow through;Demonstrated skill in effective oral, listening and written communication;Problem-solving skills, initiative, follow-through, attention to detail;Ability to efficiently and effectively organize and manage multiple tasks;Ability to work independently, identify and modify work priorities as needed or directed;Ability to work effectively and courteously with multicultural populations and varying educational levels;Ability to take initiative and propose solutions; andAbility to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of library research methods, concepts, and procedures;Demonstrated knowledge use of HTML and/or other web software programs;Marketing, outreach and public relations skills;Instruction / teaching skills (individual and group);Familiarity with accessibility best practices and/or Universal Design to support the learning experiences of a range of students;Technical troubleshooting skills for computer problems;Experience or familiarity with zines and other forms of micro-publishing; andLibrary experience.
