The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Make inquiries into allegations from employees and applicants for employment alleging discrimination because of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, physical and mental disability, and reprisal, in the informal stage of the discrimination complaint process.

- Maintain an electronic record of each case and periodically brief the NARA Complaints Program Manager.

- Provide managers and employees with information and interpretations of NARA's EEO policies, procedures, and guidelines when there is potential for controversy or the issues addressed involve more than one area of EEO policy.

- Assist with processing formal complaints including draft letters of acceptance or dismissal of claims of discrimination, monitor investigations, and draft final agency decisions on less complicated cases.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.     You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    Specialized Experience For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    -Applying Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, regulations, policies, procedures; AND
    -Preparing a variety of narrative and statistical reports outlining complaint activities and other special reports as needed.


    EDUCATION: You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: A Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Attach a copy of transcript or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit.


    COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. This is creditable providing the combination consists of 100% of the requirement. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
