This cohort will receive special on-boarding designed to provide an effective re-entry into the workforce. iReturnâ„  provides experienced professionals with a 12-week "returnship" to prepare for a full-time career in one of several fields at Northrop Grumman through training, professional development and networking opportunities. Qualified applicants will join a cohort of employees returning to the workforce after a 2+ career break for this "returnship" program that focuses on giving you a seamless transition back into the workforce. This cohort program will approximately run from March/April - June and prepare candidates for an effective re-entry into the workforce. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible for full-time roles with the company. NGMS is seeking a Systems Engineer to join out Secure Processing team within the Systems Organization. As a Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. The Systems Engineer is responsible for testing device drivers, middleware, and application developed for Linux and/or VxWorks Platforms. The work will involve working to design, development, integrate, debug, and verify the software and drivers in C/C++ and AGILE. The engineers will interface with software engineering to develop system and software requirements and technical specifications. The engineer will help to identify risks, suggest mitigation, track defects and develop resolutions and report status. This person will also work with the execution of unit tests. This position is located in Linthicum, MD. Basic Qualifications: A career break of at least two years. If required, Bachelors' degree and minimum 5 years of experience or Masters' with minimum 3 years of experience (or whatever number of years of experience). If the degree will be required at conversion, please include it in the iReturn req. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline A minimum of 2 years of experience in systems engineering (0 years with MS) Candidates must have an ACTIVE US DoD security clearance at the Secret Level or higher Candidates must be approved for customer SAP clearance in order to start work Hands on experience working in embedded real time operating systems, both kernel and application side development (eg Linux, VxWorks, ZephyrOS, FreeRTOS, Greenhills Integrity) Knowledge of cryptography Strong C/C++ background and experience with Python, JAVA, JVM and/or RMI Strong HW/SW and SW/SW integration skills Experience with device driver and middleware development Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AGILE System Boot experience (barebox, uboot, uefi, BIOS) Bare metal development Size and speed optimizing software for embedded platforms Modifying and integrating open source software Experience with device driver and middleware development. Experience developing register-level models of hardware IP in SystemC/TLM2 Experience developing Device Tree files for custom hardware Experience developing boot software (First stage bootloader, U-boot, UEFI, etc) for custom boards Tools: Git, Atlassian (BitBucket, Confluence, Jira), Jenkins, static & dynamic code analysis Salary Range: $75,100 USD - $75,100 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
