Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a manager for the Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) organization in Linthicum, Maryland. The organization provides MS&A support to the company, primarily in the eastern region. The position is responsible for ensuring the systems engineering department and related disciplines have MS&A software developers, analysts, cost engineers, and model-based engineering/model-based systems engineering personnel, expertise, and tools necessary to support successful capture and execution of Northrop Grumman programs. This includes analytical modeling tools (C/C++, Python, and MATLAB) as well as descriptive modeling tool (DOORS, Rhapsody, PTC, and NoMagic). The position will also be responsible for working with the MS&A leads to ensure proper execution of the plans. The manager will be expected to perform productive (direct-charge) work on programs in addition to functional management duties. It is anticipated that given the size of this organization, the split between functional and program duties will be approximately 80/20, on average. Functional duties include: Providing guidance to subordinates based on goals, objectives, and company policies - Employee mentoring and career development - Performance reviews and management - Compensation planning - Managing department budgets - Ensuring adherence to standard system engineering processes The direct program work may include: - Systems engineering support to programs - Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership - Consulting - Proposal support - Any other appropriate technical or leadership function based on the candidate's skill-sets In addition to program and functional responsibilities, it is expected that this position exerts influence in the development of overall objectives, strategy, and long range goals of modeling, simulation, and analysis across the enterprise. This person will work closely with the Mission Systems sector-wide Director of Modeling, Simulations, and Analysis to accomplish these goals. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills and will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The MS&A Manager will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and MS&A capabilities. The candidate will have an ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the sector business areas as required to accomplish the team goals. Basic Qualifications: - 8 Years with Bachelors in STEM field; 6 Years with Masters; 3 Years with PhD - Demonstrated technical expertise in the areas of modeling, simulation, and analysis - Strong communication skills - Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and attract, recruit, and develop top talent - High proficiency in technical problem solving, to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and sustainment - Working knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and practices, simulation software design patterns, object-oriented languages including C/C++ and Python - US Citizenship and active secret clearance is required Preferred Qualifications: - Active TS/SCI with counterintelligence polygraph - Experience in formal statistical Design of Experiments (DOE) - Familiarization with MIL-STD-3022 - Simulation/Software design and development experience - Descriptive modeling with SYSML, UML, and DoD AF experience - Campaign, Mission, and Engagement Analysis experience - Cost estimation and analysis experience - Degree or certification in systems engineering Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. " Salary Range: $137,000 USD - $205,600 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
