Location: Bethesda, MDWork Schedule: Hybrid (Work will largely be conducted remotely, with occasional in-person meetings)Salary Range: $90K - $110K Responsibilities: Collaborates with legal counsel and departments and senior leadership on employee relations mattersMaintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.Researches and explains laws and legal affairs concerning employment to managers, supervisors, and employees.Advises and trains managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances. Develops further training as needed.Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities.Collaborates with leadership on matters of policy and terms of memoranda of understanding before and throughout negotiation process.Handling complaints and disciplinary procedures for the company.Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies.Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiativesProvide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplaceUndertake tasks around performance managementGather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover ratesMaintain employee files and records in electronic and paper formUses surveys, interviews, and other studies to conduct research regarding human resource policies, compensation, and other employment issues. After analyzing the information, makes recommendations on changes.Help with updating company employee manual consisting of policies and procedures. Qualifications: Bachelors' degree in Employee Relations, Human Resources or related field required plus six (6) years of professional human resource administration, including two (2) years of government contracting experience.SPHR/PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Knowledge of EEOC regulations Knowledge of federal contract compliance and regulations Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning labor relations.Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.Thorough understanding of dispute resolution.Understanding of workers compensation.Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial situations.If you are hired for a ZemiTek corporate, project or consultant position, we will require proof that you have received the COVID-19 vaccine and are fully vaccinated, unless you qualify for a reasonable accommodation due to a valid religious or medical reason preventing you from being vaccinated.
