Summary

The Senior Acquisition Specialist/Management shall prepare acquisition requirements documentation in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division Orlando (NAWCTSD Orlando).

Responsibilities
  • Support the development of program acquisition documentation like:
  • Acquisition Plans (AP)
  • Acquisition Strategy Reports (ASR)
  • Procurement Initiation Document (PID)
  • Statement of Work (SOW)
  • Funding documents
  • Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
  • Acquisition Program Baseline Agreements (APBA)
  • Assess program procedures, practices, philosophies, and documentation for compliance with specifications, contracts, and mission requirements.
  • Attend, participate, support, analyze, provide input, develop, prepare, and report on briefs, point papers, reports, correspondence, meetings, conferences, and review boards.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.
  • Business, Economics, or Management background preferred
  • Defense Acquisition University Level 2 or equivalent required.
  • Master's preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with Defense Department acquisition policies and procedures or similar discipline is required
  • Secret clearance required with the ability to maintain it
  • The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have the ability to attend all customer in-person meetings and conferences within two (2) hours, as requested.
  • Ability to travel locally up to 50%.
  • Must have experience with project management or program management that includes; implementing policy, coordinating complex Navy procedures, and developing project budgets.
  • Knowledge of and experience with government contract and procurement procedures, including new contract actions, contract modifications, and product procurement to ensure all life-cycle support requirements are satisfied.
  • Ability to coordinate and integrate the work activities of several different project at any one time.
  • Advanced working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal English language.
  • Ability to answer questions and resolve problems relating to the acquisition program.
