For 20+ years, NJVC has provided federal, DoD, and commercial customers with innovative and cost-effective solutions for their IT needs. NJVC approaches the work with the intensity expected of a mission-critical IT provider, working within the framework of people, processes, and technologies to meet customer requirements.

NJVC is currently supporting the DIA under the Infrastructure Services Enterprise Operations (ISEO) task order. The contract currently has 3 plus years left. NJVC will provide an array of services and solutions, including desktop systems support, data center support, security, architecture, applications management, mobile device services, and traffic management. The focus of the work is to maximize operational excellence and technical innovations and automations to move the DIA toward a digital future.

NJVC is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support a large enterprise IT contract for the DoD.

Responsibilities

Work you'll do

As a Linux Systems Administrator within our Naval Safety Command's Risk Management Information (RMI)team, you will:
  • Provide technical support, administration, and monitoring of Linux, Microsoft, and Mac systems within a VMware virtual environment.
  • Provide systems and software operations and maintenance support in a large, multi-enclave enterprise environment.
  • Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for Root Cause Analysis, engineering technical assessment, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support customer requirements in a 24/7/365 environment and be able to provide on-call support during outages occurring after hours.
  • Update operations and monitoring documentation for 24/7/365 Operations Watch personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Master's degree with 4+ years of prior relevant experience OR
  • High school diploma or GED and an additional 4+years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree
  • Candidate must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief

Required:
  • Experience with Tier 2 system administration of server operating systems such as Linux (CentOS, RHEL, or Ubuntu) and Microsoft Server (2012 R2/2016)
  • Experience with Scripting/Automation through Linux Shell scripts, PowerShell, PowerCLI, or other scripting languages
  • Foundational knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud services and the cloud ecosystem
  • Familiarity with Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) concepts and solutions, like Dell VXRail
  • Technical experience with administering Linux and Windows servers within a VMware virtual environment
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications

Preferred:
  • Previous customer service experience strongly desired
