General Summary: The Continuous Improvement (CI) Supervisor works to improve processing and packaging processes using lean manufacturing techniques. The primary focus of this role will be to in the collect data, analyze outputs, and determine corrective courses of action necessary to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost always driven by business needs and company objectives. The CI Supervisor works directly with the plant Operations team members to drive CI programs including leading kaizen teams and chartered kaizen events, problem-solving and root cause analysis (RCA) exercises, and equipment reliability initiatives along with developing/providing training in a fast-paced regulated environment. Essential Functions: . Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and safety awareness within their area of responsibility. Support and enforce all plant safety policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Responsible for all job-related safety training for their work team . Create, manage, and supervise the CI systems and processes that improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) through the Church and Dwight Lean pillars of 5S & Visual management, Lean Daily Management, and Kaizen Projects. . Helps lead CI Lean tools training, application, and coaching based on business need(s) including Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, effective Tiered Meetings, Leaders Standard Work (LSW), and Problem Solving / A3 Methodology . Support the Quality, Maintenance and Operations Departments by facilitating root cause analysis (RCA). . Identify and champion opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives. . With the coordination of the Maintenance and Production Supervisors, help manage the York plant TPM implementation. . Leverages MES and other digital solutions to track operational key performance indicators (KPI) such as production throughput, unplanned downtime, and scrap. Generates reports, trends and Paretos to drive targeted actions and countermeasures to the plant abnormalities. . Supports and tracks cost savings projects, meetings and action lists. . Work with the Training department to build and develop effective training systems and organize training sessions as needed. SME for Training Within Industry (TWI). . Fairly and consistently adheres to all Company and Plant procedures, work rules and guidelines. . Foster and maintain good employee relations through all the appropriate methods of communications and positive employee relations practices. . Participation in employee process from the hiring and interviewing stage through termination. . Initiate employee relations functions as necessary such as rewards and recognition, coaching, discipline, performance management, etc. . Accountable for accurate and timely recording of employee attendance and payroll. . Foster and maintain good employee relations through all the appropriate methods of communications and positive employee relations practices. . May be required to support the operation outside of assigned shift hours or on weekends as needed. May also be required to manage some hourly team members based on area assignment . Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: . Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization. . Excellent communications skills - ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media - verbal, written, etc. . Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematics skills . Excellent organizational/time management skills. Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment. . Strong leadership abilities and skills as a team builder, coach and mentor. . Strong computer skills (SAP, MS Office Suite, GE MES, Poka). . Strong knowledge of production operation, including equipment, materials, workflow, etc. . Knowledge of Total Quality Systems (ISO-9000), CGMP and regulatory requirements (21 CFR 110, 111 and 210/211). Education: . Bachelor's Degree Required (Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering degree preferred). . Prior experience in continuous improvement initiatives a plus. . 1-3 years previous supervisory and engineering experience in a fast-paced, regulatory manufacturing environment such as dietary supplements, CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods), food or pharmaceuticals preferred.
