Meta is looking for an experienced attorney to join the Privacy Legal team to advise on commercial products. You will serve as a privacy subject matter expert, working closely with Product Counsel on a broad scope of initiatives. Working with regional counsel, you will bring the global privacy legal perspective to Meta's advertising and commercial projects. The ideal candidate for this role is a privacy enthusiast who understands commercial products such as Workplace and Business Messaging and who is passionate about the service Meta provides and the people we serve. You have a bias for working proactively and collaboration. You can easily shift between the details and the bigger picture as needed. Counsel, Privacy (Business Entities & Messaging) Responsibilities: Maintain subject matter expertise in privacy and data protection requirements, including US state and federal laws, the GDPR, and other global privacy lawsWork with Product Counsel to evaluate the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and other privacy developments on Meta's commercial productsDrive high-impact projects working cross-functionally with stakeholders in Legal, Policy, Product and other teams Minimum Qualifications:J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar3+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experienceExperience in one of the following areas: Litigation, regulatory, privacy, or product counseling Preferred Qualifications:Experience with global privacy legal requirements relating to social media, digital advertising, or other technologiesExperience with managing legal risk across multiple jurisdictionsExperience of advancing simultaneous projects in a multi-stakeholder environmentExperience of collaborating at all levels of the business including executive and C-suite Facebook is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
