Research Administrative CoordinatorThe Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence (ACE!) within the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University is seeking a research administrator to support research at the interface between health and legal system settings. The position will be part of an initiative funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse's (NIDA's) Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network (JCOIN). NIDA awarded Mason's ACE! a Coordination & Translation Center Grant to network 13 different other organizations and to advance translation and dissemination of research into practice. This research associate will support work on studies that seek to further understand interventions that: interrupt offending and substance abuse; message about effective practices, substance abuse and risky behaviors, and, support the relationship between programs and outcomes. The individual hired will report to Dr. Faye Taxman Director of ACE! and will be located on Mason's Arlington campus or remotely if receiving state approval.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Supporting work groups and a Steering Committee of scholars from various institutions;Supporting PIs on acquiring and maintaining IRB approval;Creating and maintaining databases;Conducting analyses, collaborating on research/technical publications;Assisting in the supervision of undergraduate and graduate research assistants and field staff;Assisting in study recruitment;Hosting online meetings and webinars;Planning large-scale in-person meetings;Managing co-working tools, such as project management software and file sharing;Developing website content;Scheduling meetings, managing the project team calendar; andWorking with a variety of research/practitioner staff from around the U.S.Required Qualifications:Some (generally three years) of professional experience;Excellent communication skills including writing and presentations;Detail-oriented with a focus on quality results and deliverables;Proficient in scheduling and communicating with a large team;Proficient in use and manipulation of MS Office software and statistics software; andBachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications:Project management/coordination;Some qualitative and quantitative research skills;Human subjects (IRB) training prior to start date;Experience working with justice-involved populations; andMaster's degree in the social sciences, public health, public administration, public policy or criminology.
