Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a research associate to work as a member of a team that supports large-scale national and international assessments. The research associate will assist in recruitment; providing support to schools cooperating in the studies; and contributing to the production of study progress reports, study documentation, and analytic reports.
This position is remote eligible.
Job Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and conduct webinars, web-based, and in-person training in data collection, data management and quality control, and analysis, interpreting, and reporting for a national and international assessment programs.
• Provide analytical, technical, and operational leadership and support to the project team and to staff in state and local education agencies.
• Manage and perform sampling and data collection quality assurance activities.
• Conduct quality control reviews of data and other products and procedures.
• Coordinate with information technology staff on data collection software systems.
• Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of ongoing training and support programs.
• Support the design of processes and systems that enhance the assessment of students with special needs.
• Develop products and analytic tools that support improving the value of assessment results to various stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
• A bachelor degree in education, research or measurement, economics, or a related education or social science field with 8 - 10 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with technical writing and developing training materials and implementing/delivering instructional programs.
• Experience with large-scale assessments of school-aged children.
• Experience working in or with public state or local education agencies.
• Experience analyzing and reporting assessment data to various audiences.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the K-12 education system.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Strong written and oral communication skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively in teams
