ESG / Sustainable Investment Associate Analyst Job Description POSITION PURPOSE The ESG Investing team are subject matter experts on environmental social and governance issues and work to support Analysts and Portfolio Managers in integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations into the investment process to help identify material ESG risks and sustainable investment opportunities. The successful candidate, once proven, will have great longer-term opportunities to progress in a premier Investment Management firm. The Associate Analyst will work closely with Research Analysts and Portfolio Managers across T. Rowe Price's investment platform to aid in integrating ESG analysis into the investment process. The position will be broad and varied involving attending company meetings, industry conferences, managing large data models, conducting company ESG analysis and writing ESG related reports. A core part of the role is looking at the investment implications of a company's ESG profile to the investment case based on non-financial data. The successful candidate should have excellent modelling experience and working knowledge of accounting and finance coupled with a keen interest and passion for investing. Working alongside experienced investors on our global platform will help you learn the necessary skills to develop into a successful investor. Principal Responsibilities Conducting ESG analysis of companies, which includes collecting data and re searching specific environmental and/or social issues impacting the industry/company. Writing ESG related reports for both internal and external use. Meeting the management of the companies we invest in to help review how ESG factors impact the investment thesis and assisting Research Analysts in evaluating ESG factors that impact their industry. Attending company investor days, investment conferences, and field trips, and reporting key findings. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS Required: Intellectual curiosity. Ambition and desire to make an impact. Academic excellence. Financial analysis experience including accounting & financial modelling skills. Interest and knowledge of financial markets and ESG investing trends. Preferred: Professional and / or personal investment experience Experience with market data services (ex. FactSet, Bloomberg etc.) FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
