Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities: What We're Looking For:Iridium is seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our HR Team. This role is essential in supporting the wellbeing of our employees and ensuring our Total Rewards package continues to attract and retain top talent. As a Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for various activities, with a focus on day-to-day benefits administration and wellness initiatives and will support HR functions associated with Total Rewards. If you are passionate about being a champion for innovation in the benefits and wellness space and integrating best-in-class practices to processes, we want to talk to you. What You'll Do:Handle the day-to-day administration of Iridium's benefits and perks programs such as medical, dental and vision plans, spending accounts, life insurance, 401(k), COBRA, etc.Support new hire onboarding by owning the benefits portion of new hire orientation and managing all employee enrollment activitiesFacilitate employee terminations by conducting exit interviews, benefits terminations, and COBRA activitiesProvide excellent customer service as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and escalation support for issuesAdminister Iridium's ADA and leave of absence programs including, FMLA, short term and long term disabilitySupport Iridium's compliance requirements with ERISA and other benefits related governmental laws and regulationsIdentify market trends in benefits and present recommendations to ensure Iridium is providing competitive total rewards. Evaluate and compare existing company benefits with those of other employers through formal surveys, local and national HR organizations, as well as other sources of informationFacilitate the annual open enrollment process for employees and COBRA eligible participants, including presentation materials, communications, employee meetings, system set up and enrollment audits.Drive engagement though employee benefits satisfaction surveys and creating and maintaining content for internal benefits portal and driving wellness initiativesSupport the administration of Iridium's equity program including grants, vests, stock exercises, etc.Support annual performance and compensation activitiesAssist with the maintenance of policy, procedures and process documentationDevelop HR communications and presentationsSupport compliance requirements as a Federal Contractor What You'll Need to Succeed:Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present deliverables and analysis within teamPossess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make recommendations and implement solutionsBe comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when neededHave confidence and be able to establish valuable relationships with othersMust be able to prioritize key tasks and have a strong sense of ownership over your workBe active in seeking out ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledgeAbility to maintain confidential informationInitiative to find answers using available documentation/resourcesAbility to work well in a fast-paced environment Experience & Education Requirements / EEO: Things You Must Bring to the Table:Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience5+ years of relevant experience in benefits administrationThings That Would be GREAT if You Brought to the Table:CBP, APHR, PHR or SPHR CertificationExperience administering employee equity programsExperience with ADP, Culture Amp, and benefits vendor portalsWe will also need you to:Be able to work in a hybrid in office and work from home environmentBe able to travel 1-2 times per year between AZ and VA officesIridium requires all employees/new hires to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless otherwise prohibited by applicable state or local law.
