Join Takeda as a Manager, Lab Operations where you will manage equipment services including calibration, maintenance, service contract renewal, software/hardware upgrades and validation activities for existing equipment. You will also manage and administrate equipment database information, including maintaining database for equipment moves, new equipment arrivals, equipment decommissioning and updated standards. As part of the Lab Operations team, you will report to Associate Director and work with Process Development, Facilities, IT, Engineering, Validation, Quality, Finance, Procurement, and multiple externals including Service Providers and Supply Vendors. How you will contribute: Provide equipment and inventory management services to the Process Development and Pharmaceutical Science departments. Interface and liaison among supporting departments and external vendors to maintain equipment and inventory levels. Manage independently scheduling and organizing the installation, calibration, maintenance, and IQ/OQ/PQ activities of all laboratory equipment. Position ensures compliance, performing documentation review, implementing, and managing workflows related to all laboratory equipment. Manage and Administrate integrated systems and platforms. Primary contact for lab operations for Pharmaceutical Sciences department in Cambridge between internal department stakeholders and internal partners including Facilities, Space Planning, EH&S, and Procurement. Independently scheduling and managing end-user requests for utility upgrades, modifications, and installations. Establish timelines for multiple concurrent validation projects and manage completion of validation tasks and milestones, through interaction with members of other functional departments. Identify opportunities for process, system, and service level improvements. Manage efforts to collaboratively develop and implement them across the Takeda Lexington and Cambridge campuses. Will manage one or more direct reports and mentor less-senior colleagues and peers. Manage inventory management programs. Provide system administrative support for sample inventory. Ensure inventory management system meets end-user requirements. Develop and monitor key performance indicators and matrices to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement. Manage laboratory renovation and improvement projects for Pharmaceutical Sciences by compiling a business case, coordinating stakeholders, and driving resolution and deliverables. Identify opportunities and lead initiatives to collaboratively improve service levels and business processes regarding equipment maintenance and inventory management. Manage mid- to large-size projects. Manage lab safety projects on behalf of Laboratory Operations. Collaborate with Takeda EHS on all lab safety assessments. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: 15+ years in operational and project management, and relevant industry experience in Chemistry, Instrumentation, Facilities, Engineering, or related Pharmaceutical Science, or Associate Degree and 8+ years relevant industry experience in Chemistry, Instrumentation, Facilities, Engineering, or related Pharmaceutical Science, or Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years relevant industry experience, in Chemistry, Instrumentation, Facilities, Engineering, or related Pharmaceutical Science, or Master's Degree and 4+ years relevant industry experience in Chemistry, Instrumentation, Facilities, Engineering, or related Pharmaceutical Science, or Knowledge of IQ (installation qualification) / OQ (operational qualification) / PQ (performance qualification) Appropriate laboratory training. Working knowledge of financial systems SAP and Ariba preferred. Familiarity with the administration of the ELERT environmental chamber response system, CisPro DS chemical tracking system, and Freezer Pro frozen sample management and inventory system preferred. Should possess a valid driver's license. Approximately 5% travel between Takeda sites and facilities may be required. Available to support important activities and operations during off-hours and weekends on an occasional basis.
