The Hatcher Group seeks a driven and enthusiastic Staff Accountant who strives to ensure operational excellence. The Staff Accountant will be expected to manage the daily financial processes of the firm. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic innovation, comprehensive reporting and analysis, curiosity, and passion for excellent customer service. This person will partner with all members of our team to meet deadlines, proactively solve problems, and identify process improvements. We are looking for someone who understands the mission and vision of our firm, while delivering quality in the firm's daily financial functions. The preferred location is within reasonable commuting distance to any of our office locations for occasional in-person collaboration. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Manage day-to-day accounting activities for the firm including accounts payable, accounts receivables, and general ledger/journal entries.Lead monthly client invoicing process.Complete monthly credit card and bank reconciliations and administration.Produce monthly income statement and balance sheet review.Process bi-weekly payroll, 401(k) administration, and quarterly Safe Harbor administration.Execute contract administration via Monday.com, Sage Intacct, and Databasics.Assist in annual insurance renewal process.Collaborate with outside CPA firm on annual tax preparation.Provide support to project managers regarding invoicing, budget management, and financial reporting.Perform ad hoc requests as requested by supervisor or firm leadership.Contribute positively to a team environment rooted in the firm's core values, upholding our community guidelines. Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with at least 5 years of direct experience. Demonstrated ability in cost accounting and payroll management is required.Prior experience with federal government contracts is highly desirable.Excellent Excel skills (pivot table, complex formulas, Vlookup, and modeling)Previous experience using Sage Intacct and Databasics is preferred.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external customers.Strong work ethic and ability to independently manage workload.Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage firm deadlines.Ability to collaborate directly with internal clients and manage finance projects.Flexibility to quickly adapt when other high priority needs cause priorities to change.About The Hatcher GroupThe Hatcher Group is a full-service communications and marketing firm, powered by purpose.
