RESPONSIBILITIES New York Sports Clubs and our family of brands is seeking a results-driven, business-focused Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). The HRBP is responsible to provide Human Resources support to management and advocate for employees. The HRBP will work with the business operators and the Human Resources team to provide proactive, innovative, customer-focused Human Resources solutions that are aligned with business objectives. Solutions and expectations will encompass recruitment, retention, compensation decisions, coaching and development, performance management, succession planning, project management, employee relations, systems navigation, Human Resources related training facilitation, and administrative duties. The role will work to deliver results for the business groups. You will collaborate with members of the Human Resources team to implement Human Resources strategies, policies and programs that support the business' plans. Continuously modeling and promoting the NYSC and our family of brands mission, mission statement, and values with pride and integrity. Providing a legendary member experience by consistently executing the Five Agreements. Handles high volume and complex employee relations issues, assists teams with proper documentation, ensures proper progressive discipline and partners on terminations. Partners with Business Leaders to respond to all field Human Resources inquiries regarding policies, procedures, programs, and employee relation issues. Supports the performance management, workforce planning, IDP execution, and succession planning processes. Works with Business Leaders to promptly and thoroughly investigate escalated Human Resources issues and complaints. Advises and maintains thorough documentation on all Human Resources matters, including progressive discipline supporting forms, case summaries and proposed terminations for consult. Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Identifies training needs, drives training implementation, facilitation, and participation. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required. Develops and executes the Talent Acquisition function by identifying high-quality, diverse candidates for positions throughout the organization for both field and corporate positions. Manages the Applicant Tracking System, creating job requisitions, internal/external pre-screeners for all positions, and managing the hiring workflow stages. Consults with the hiring managers to understand the hiring needs and profiles of ideal candidates. Sources, recruits, screens, and conducts behavioral interviews to fill diverse and qualified candidates for open roles. Manages the background check process with strict confidentiality, facilitates pre and post adverse letters and provides timely feedback to stakeholders. Creates job descriptions and success profiles, immersions, and other recruitment related marketing collateral. Some travel may be required. Additional duties as assigned. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field; advanced degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in Generalist role with strong employee relations, performance management and recruiting. Strong business and Human Resources acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and financial literacy. Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and influence leaders. Strong internal and external customer service focus. Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively across divisions, functions, and levels. Strong project management, analytical and organizational abilities. Ability to use data to inform insights. Ability to identify and handle priority and/or sensitive issues with discretion, and a commitment to confidentiality.
