Key Requirements Must be a US citizen Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance 25 percent Recruitment Incentive will be borne by the FBIMission Statement: The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States.Major Duties The selectee will serve as an Information Management Division (IMD) expert on statutory and regulatory requirements, obligations, decisions, policies, practices, and precedents regarding the area(s) of responsibility of the unit to which assigned. Performs extensive analysis and evaluation for a full range of responsibilities, addressing highly complex, new, and one-of-a-kind assignments as well as monitoring overall trends. Serves as an expert and authoritative resource and point of contact on matters involving Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts (FOIPA), national security classification, various records dissemination concerns, and the FBI. Serves as an expert on Executive Orders and National Archive regulations pertaining to historical declassification. Serves as key liaison among the FBI and outside contacts regarding FBI information and records dissemination. You will be notified of your status throughout the process.Additional Information The FBI is in the Executive Branch of the federal government. It is one of the components of the Department of Justice (DOJ). The FBI is the principle investigative arm of the DOJ. All FBI positions are in the excepted service. Applicants must be US citizens and consent to a complete background investigation, urinalysis, and polygraph. You must be suitable for Federal employment; as determined by a background investigation. Relocation expenses MAY be borne by the FBI. Candidates receiving a transfer of physical location, whether at the expense of the FBI or not, will be required to complete a one year commitment to the assignment, prior to moving to a new position at the FBI. The 12-month waiting period begins the day an employee reports for duty at the new location.
