Job TitleVice President, Public Sector (Federal)Overview* The US Public Sector Team is responsible for our account relationships with Federal, State, and City governments as well as transit agencies. A major area of focus for the business is expanding our work in the Federal Government. * This position will help manage our key relationships in the Federal Government including the US Dept. of the Treasury, the General Services Administration and other major agencies.* This position will also help advance the broader public sector goals by assisting the Public Sector team with high-priority initiatives as well as supporting key industry events. * In addition, this position will work to identify new opportunities in the Federal Space involving real time payments, data analytics and other new Mastercard and industry technologies.* Are you interested in working across a broad range of commercial functions including business development, marketing, strategy, go-to-market, pricing, and market development? * Do you have a drive to help others on financial inclusion, sustainability and other ESG goals?* Are you an autonomous and self-motivated business leader able to organize and drive realization of a vision by teams both within your business division, cross-functionally and externally?Role* Drive revenue for Mastercard federal sector business by identifying key business opportunities and managing business development efforts from end-to-end* Manage key Federal programs across the Federal Commercial Card and Prepaid space. This includes growing market share in the federal commercial card market through outreach to agency decision makers and by working with our issuing partners* Provide deep knowledge of federal government programs, including but not limited to DHS, DoD, HHS and Veterans Administration* Work cross-functionally to identify requirements for BD opportunities, source resources, tailor value propositions, and present business cases to internal (market leaders) and external (customers) stakeholders * Provide issuing partners with current and in-depth information on public sector payments needs, gaps and desires* Develop the sales pipeline, coordinating with product development and account management teams * Work with cross-functional teams to creatively and analytically identify how Mastercard products and data can solve customer pain points* Communicate, consult and present to senior executives on key relationships* Support other areas within Public Sector including the state, municipal, higher education and middle market spaces as needed* Prospect, contact and secure new customers and business partners to improve market penetration* Play a key role in developing financial modeling and business cases for development opportunities * Enhance ongoing business development relationships (eg, government, regulators, industry bodies)* Independently own and create advanced customized presentations for use with clients* Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word and ExcelAll About You* MBA or college degree in business, economics, or public administration* Experience in a corporate environment interfacing with executive leadership, internally and with client portfolio* Extensive federal public sector experience in either Treasury Management, Prepaid, or Federal Commercial Card programs * Deep contacts with key decision makers and influencers at federal government agencies* Ideally will have extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the GSA's SmartPay program* In-depth experience executing and managing business development strategies for large or complex countries/regions/industry verticals * Track record in building client relationships through business development and account management* Consulting or strategy development experience OR experience in public sector payments* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills* Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team* Excellent written and oral communication skills* Ability to quickly learn the various Mastercard products and services as well the role and structure of public sector providersCOVID-19 Considerations We value the safety of each member of our community because we know we're all in this together.
