As the Global Head GMASE Performance you will partner with the Head of GMASE, the GMASE LT and across the organization, to make both them and their LT as effective as possible. *This is a Newly-Created Sr. Director level career opportunity* This role will provide YOU the opportunity to drive key activities and responsibilities as follows: Key Responsibilities: Leading a team within GMASE to drive delivery operations and performance. This includes staffing, sourcing, financial management and budgeting, performance analytics, business management, governance representation, communication and engagement management. Business management of the GMASE LT including active engagement as part of the team, facilitating Agile embedding a culture of the same, transformation efforts, and managing overall performance. This also includes adequate and efficient Clin. Ops input to different Governance boards, and supporting Head of GMASE in developing the agenda and general preparation, engagement, facilitation (including project management) and communication of LT meetings and ensuring these are focused to deliver One Development objectives. Lead with the Head of GMASE as well as his/her LT to manage GMASE specific critical value drivers across portfolio in partnership with other Clinical Operation functions like Rx and Vx GCD (central teams), DAP (Digital, Analytics & Performance) SPO and Resourcing Management and others (ie Capacity management, resource tracking and allocation, financials and study delivery metrics to fit the needs of GMASE. Lead across portfolio budget expenditure vs forecast and ensure alignment on budget estimates including capacity management and performance management. Manage the Global Site Budgets and Contracts to ensure our site contracts are meeting Fair Market Value, consistency across programs and adequate legal guidance and terms. Ensure connectivity and synergies are driven across Clinical Operations, R&D, Vaccines/Pharma in GMASE and strong partnerships are established with central teams in support of elevating performance across the Development organization. Support delivery of the portfolio to Upper Quartile performance Responsible for ensuring fit-for-purpose implementation of the internal control framework across GMASE. Oversee key initiatives and projects including UAM (User Access Management) and SDE/SRD (Site Document Exchange/Safety Reporting Distribution). Partner with Head GMASE and HR and others to strengthen his/her personal effectiveness, ensuring that internal/external meetings are aligned with strategic cross-portfolio priorities, ensuring progress is being made on key topics of interest, ensuring the right questions are being asked to the organization and followed-up and that the related activities are being connected up behind the scenes. Includes taking direct responsibility for several components of this programme of work. Effective communication around activities with GMASE, key initiatives and engagement with the broader organization. Ensure GMASE has effective interactions with Clinical LT, RDLT, Governance Chairs, R&D and external stakeholders. In partnership with Clinical Communications, develop a globally oriented internal communications and engagement strategy for GMASE to ensure that All Hands, Let's Talk, digital channels etc. are leveraged to ensure the LT is visible, engaged, accessible and true dialogue takes place. Ability to effectively manage interactions with peers/partners, ensuring that optimal cooperation exists for achieving R&D goals, that critical information on the priorities of the portfolio is shared, aligned and integrated, and that the required resources and the organizational capacity are available at the right time (incl. ability to navigate decisions and/or their execution through multiple parties). Contribute to developing a strong and effective LT, rather than a collection of individuals and as a result, making the team more effective. In partnership with Digital, Analytics & Performance responsible for managing specialist GMASE business operational processes and systems, for tracking associated performance, understanding resource requirements, triaging requests and releasing resources. In partnership with SPO and resourcing management, responsible to track and manage resourcing and capacity (ie demand vs. supply), resourcing productivity and effective study forecasting with our third party partner at a named/country level. Ensure adequate monthly tracking and accountability of Objectives to end of year review Drive the identification, implementation and embedding of strategies to improve GMASE performance and clinical studies delivery. In collaboration with TPO&D, responsible to implement the optimization of the study sourcing strategy, inducing partnering around the use and oversight of the Study Delivery Management FSP (Function Service Provider) platforms and the design and use of FSO (Full Service Outsourced) model. Manage functional budget associated with the team and ensure aligned process for Project/Study forecast and budget management across portfolio in addition to monitoring of Portfolio budget spent vs forecast, resourcing and performance. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Bachelor's degree / Advanced degree in the life sciences, Business, or equivalent. Minimum 10 years pharmaceutical R&D or related industry experience with a minimum of 5 years' experience in clinical or project management experience or study planning and start up optimization. Demonstrated experience with finance, business development, IT, change management, process design, organizational development, or consulting are beneficial. Proven track record in complex strategy development and excellence in implementation. High level of personal integrity and the ability to handle highly confidential information appropriately. Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the minimum qualifications, the ideal candidate will possess the following: Master or PhD, with MBA or equivalent. Qualification in Project Management.
